Big Bang and World Class thoughts inside
« on: April 09, 2006, 01:48:01 PM »
Well i have thrown the World Class now 3 different times, it is drilled pin over ring finger and cg stacked below around the midline area exactly 4 x 4 for me with no weight hole. I had it in box finish each time cleaning between sets with power wash to keep it nice and fresh. Very good controllable ball moves alot the whole lane and is very continous through the pin deck, i have left solid 9's with the ball going in front of the 9 driving through the 8 more often than not. Ball needs medium/heavy oil in box finish to have any length at all, otherwise you will tapped alot i left every back row leave there is but not very many 8's. Very good hitting ball it is a step down from a Big One i have drilled close but the big one's mb is under my thumb, i prefer assymmetrical flip drillings to strong mb positions. I would rate this ball in box strong but nothing stupid hook wise like the Big One is or the super carbide bomb is in oil. I polished it with rough buff to see if can delay the hook motion slightly and be able to make it a more distinct move down from the Big One for me.

The Big Bang is drilled 4 1/4 x 4 with no weight hole pin over the ring finger, this ball is very strong closer to the Big One in strength. Kind of a weird ball revs up very hard the first 45 feet you will honestly think it is going to keep going the first roll or two with it. Then watch out this bad boy takes a left turn and moves the last 15 feet like nothing i have ever thrown in this dull of a ball. Remember i have had at least 550 plus balls i mean nothing else comes close to the motion this ball will produce in oil for you. The Big One starts much earlier even with my flip drilling and does cover more ground but i have had ups and downs with being able to use my big one more than a game and half in any session i have ever rolled it. I used the Big Bang about equal too 2 games if it hit the pocket light or high flush it struck the ball never left me a 9 or solid 8, i cannot remember a single 10 pin when throwing it in the 5 games off and on rolling it. In short i like this ball alot in box finish with pin high drilling, i am carrying the BB and The WC with me on tuesdays with a big one, professional, dirty bomb pearl and the horizon for my mens league. We usually get a nice medium/heavy shot that i will able to start with one the legends balls or move down from the big one too them and then too one of the pearls to end the night the final 5 frames or so.

I cannot consider this a full review i dont write them anymore, in fact i deleted most every one of them i have ever wrote. I can tell you from ball reaction in my early usage the Big Bang would be my choice if i was going to buy just one of them. I changed the WC with ruff buff and hope it will snap harder now than in box finish, also these balls pickup up dirt and grime from the belts fast make sure you clean every session. Even though only roughly 2 games total on the BB it was very dirty soft cloth when i used Track Power wash to clean it.

One other note my drillers tell me these balls are super hard to drill hard on there bits from no fillers, so you know you are getting your money's worth quality wise. Call Galen for assistance very nice guy make sure like Robb says you actually tell him all you know of your game. I honestly cannot wait for my masterpiece to get in this week now, so i can do a heads up between my new coveted Horizon and the MP with very close drillings. I try to use no weight hole layouts and pin high so i can retain some length since i have hardly any ball tilt.

Mini-Review on the BB, WC, and The Buzz (I'm NOT a reviewer ...you'll see that)

Rolled my WC and BB yesterday for the first time; BB is 3" pin under ring, stacked and OOB and the WC is 3" pin, "in the ring, stacked and OOB.
Both are STRONG rolling and hard-hitting ... the BB is a bit longer with no quit on the backends whereas the WC and that huge core revs up early in the midlane and comes back strong too. The BB and it's core remind me of a KONG on steroids with that strong backend and of course is for heavier oil that the KONG. I found with the WC that if I eased up a bit on the speed and gave it room to the right, it came back like a strong reactive (ie - like my Delta).
Oh ... I also got The Buzz (2 5/8" pin, 1" under the pin, cg stacked, OOB. I used this one for some cross alley spares until the pattern broke down a bit; nice, strong move on the backends, but NOT skid/flippy !!!
I like all three but need more time with The Buzz to get comfortable withit's capabilities.

I used a big bang tonight in league i stayed firm on the ball i had the first 8 in a row all blasting the rack. I pulled the ball in the 9 th thinking about staying ahead of the anchor on the other team, i shot 263 not a great game but believe me it was operator error for the 9 th and nice bucket on the 1 st ball in the 10 th throwing it too hard on the 1 st ball. Anyway i started the 2 nd game off nicely but started running out of gas finished with a 201 with an open 10 th frame, my son was up at 4 am throwing up all on me and wife after he came in our room crying. Game 3 the ball just hooked too much i lost all ball speed from being tired, i switched too the polished World Class it rolled up too soon still. I then blew the whole night with an amazing 161 to finish using every other pearl ball with me, oh well it was a good first game and could have been a good 2 nd game too.

Let me tell you the big bang is one he11 of a nice hitting ball, you can feed it right or move more right and increase your angle. Again ready for this not a single 10 pin in the 2 games, i left a 7 pin on the 2 nd game fill ball trying to fluff because i over threw the 1st ball in the 10 th that game. The Big Bang is a great ball on medium/heavy oil to create entry angle and still keep energy retention at the pocket. This ball will with me for the fresher shot league every time out for now on, it is a step down from the Ebonite Big One but much more hand position friendly. I dumped my spare ball a few weeks ago, i can do almost every type of roll with this ball from spin it through the heads to shoot 10 pins with it by killing my hand.
