No Xtreme Damage Or Ultimate Power!!??
« on: July 05, 2009, 09:03:27 AM »
Here's a e-mail sent to me today from Jake Brichta with Lane Masters..

Our 2009/2010 Catalog is not out yet. How ever, I can type you the info on the balls. I've never heard of the xtreme damage or the ultimate power. Perhaps you are referring to the Xtreme Impact and the Absolute Power? Both of those balls have been retired and are no longer in production. Either the Dynamic Power or the Black Diamond would be a good choice for heavy oil. I find that the Black Diamond out hooked my Dynamic power by 3 - 4 boards on the USBC National Pattern. The only problem is, I found it to be too strong for normal house conditions. The Dynamic Power, however, is strong enough to cut through heavy oil, but still easily tamable to throw on a house shot.  The Dynamic Power is a light load Solid Particle cover, wrapped around Lane Masters lowest rg core. It is a 3 piece ball, with the filler layer being made out of plastic rather than styrofoam. The Black Diamond is a Legends Line Light Load Diamond Particle ball, wrapped around a heavier version of the Black Pearl core. Both balls are great and perform with the life and hitting power of all Lane Masters balls. The Black Diamond is just a little bit stronger.

Hope this helps with your decision and let me know what you decide. Sorry for the delayed response as I have been very busy here by myself.

Why would he deny having knowledge of the Xtreme Damage and the Ultimate Power this close to the release??

I dont know but he also says that the black diamond is a light load particle. when we know it to be a medium load. probably just a typo as he was rushing to type it.

What I dont understand is why does he say the catalog isnt out yet... but we can download it from their website?

they never were on top of their releases but shouldnt they at least have heard of these balls?

You already "talked to" Tony Martin of Lanemasters in this thread:
http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=239586&ForumID=87&CategoryID=2

And he said, regarding the Xtreme Damage, "I have not set any dates of release yet. Releases will be based on sales and I am hoping to get the 5 balls released before the Holiday Season."

And that's October and November. So I'm not sure why you're asking another person, maybe someone who doesn't know as much as Tony, the same question?

This ball is probably still in the planning stages.

I sent that e-mail well before I talked to Tony. You missed the whole point! The point is why deny the exsistence of these balls when you can go to Lane Masters website and find out about them!? That doesn't make much sense in my opinion.

You missed my point. Jake may not be denying anything. The development of the Xtreme Damage may not have advanced to where it's known by everyone in the company. I don't know who Jake is. I never heard of him before. I do think a person who answer the phone should know about the new ball line-up for the coming year, but if he doesn't, he doesn't. I do know Tony Martin replaced Galen Gentry as the drilling guru and the liaison with the customers. He is the man to contact. He's already told you that these new balls are not even scheduled yet. So it's obvious their development is not yet complete.

By the way, I'm not trying to be nasty. I just think you're being very unrealistic about some new balls that aren't even close to becoming available. There are plenty of good balls out there already, Lanemasters and others. Yes, new balls are always exciting but until they're in production and we hear some reports, both professional and from our friends, we really have little idea about them PLUS very little can be deduced from core specification numbers.

I just saw this thread. Please disregard Jake's letter. He did not have the right information when he wrote the letter. Jake is a great part of Lane Masters and with him working at the booth for nationals I can understand why he is not up to date. He's been working very hard there and we appreciate it.

Thanks Jake!!!
