« on: August 01, 2006, 05:37:43 PM »
Since my last post didn't really get the type of responses I was looking for let me make this simple.

OK, I'LL make this simply for you and you can make your own decision based upon what you get out of the info that you see ... go to legendsbowling.com and click on the Ball Chart link that the top of the page to call up info on their equipment; that will give you Hook, Length and reaction Shape info, and if you click on a specific ball, the ball specs will appear on the left hand side of the page.
If this doesn't satisfy you, and if your are looking for an informed person to actually TELL you what you would like to hear, I recommend contacting Galen Gentry at Legends in Stockton,CA; email him at galen@lanemasters.com or, better yet, call him at 1-888-526-3645 to speak to him personally (leave a voice mail if he's not in. He is a busy guy, since he works Tec Support and Testing, and he is going to SoCal later this week for a trade show of their newest releases.
Good luck !!!

The hardest hooking ball from Lanemaster is the Big Bang, but they just came out with the World Class Reactive and the Terminator which is for Heavy oil, but it is a pearl particle.  So really it is up to you to decide exactly what you want.

Chris,
Actually, the Terminator is a POLISHED particle, NOT a particle pearl(per Galen Gentry at Legends); the Black Pearl, due for release mid October, will be their latest particle pearl(their first one was The Answer, which was released last September - and wasn't particularly successful). I have one of these and it's a decent ball for medium-light/broke down conditions.

Sorry about that you are correct.  He should go with the Big Bang if he wants a oiler and something that will hook the most

Chris,
I see that you have the Yeah Bay, Terminator and, although it's not in your profile, you reference the Big Bang as a heavy oiler; so, you belive that it have the potential to handle more oil and have the most backend hook ??? I'm not doubting your opinion, I'm just curious ...

BTW, I had a Big Bang(sold it; too long for my "stoker" and higher speed/lower revs style) and although I've never rolled the Yeah Baby, I DID just get back from my first session with the Ternimator (3oz TW, 3 1/4" pin right of and even with the top of the ring finger, cg "stacked", OOB, no WH) and WOW !!! My first shot was a bit to the right of target (out to about 3 board and the ball SCREAMED back !!! After that I found it to be very strong but a controlled and even, arcing roll with impressive power upon impact; I left one 9 pin and when I did happen to leave a ten pin, if was "operator-error, not the ball. It's NOT flippy for being polished and it never jumped on the back end, so I had no "weird" splits.

Going back to topic now ... I agree that the Big Bang, with the proper layout, has potential to handle heavier oil; in addition, IMHO, I believe that the same can be said for the Yeah Baby (your profile's heavy oil ball), the AP2, and the Ternimator. My 2 cents ...

I can't compare them because I've never rolled the EB, but I have heard good things about it and that it handles heavy oil.

mrbowlingnut,

But in your opinion, the Epic Battle is better for long, heavy oil patterns than the Big Bang and World Calss, yes?

Big bang is not exacly a heavy oil ball, right?    More Medium - heavy?

Depends on your hand and th eDrill and how you play the lanes.

What magic answer are you looking for?

What do you really wish to put in the "Hand of God"?

They are toss up more medium heavy oil, my hawgzilla makes all 3 of these balls look stupid hookwise in oil. Hawgzilla is cheaper at least for me it was and out of the box the biggest hooking ball in oil i have used. Lane 1 super carbide bomb is also a great choice older ball but still up there with the zilla with its .071 differential.

Looking for one of us to say a ball from another brand is better in a certain department than a Legends ball, yes /no? (whocares, that is for each of us to decide on our own?

Pushing people to make deffinite comparisons between this ball and that ball, yes/no? (Most of us don't have an assortment of balls from other brands to make thes comparisons)

Making any real comparisons yourself, NO?

Asking open ended, leading questions, serching for an anser that you want to hear, yes?

Trying to bet us to question the brand of balls we use by asking TOOOOOO many questions, yes?

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, yes/no?

Again you may say that everybody is reacting to you, and not answering you. But if you look at the amount of questions you ask and how you word them then you will see WHY. Enjoy
