Should I buy it or not.
« on: April 12, 2006, 06:08:39 PM »
Ok I know where I can get a used yeah baby for 40 bucks. I have no clue about lanemasters, and I wanted to know if I should take a try on this ball. I have been looking at this comp for a while and I was woundering if this would be a good ball to try. Any info would be good.

You might try it out. It sounds like a good deal.
I've heard that they make crappy balls, but you should give it a shot if that's what your gut tells you to do.

Most people find the Yeah Baby! hard to like when they don't use it on enough oil. I can't use mine on anything less than long medium oil, preferably medium-heavy oil. Stock cover is about 800 grit, roughly. The ball and cover take to drilling and surface changes exactly as you'd expect. High pins go long, lots of polish = LOTS AND LOTS of length and less oil handling. I'd suggest 4-5" pin at most. If you need some polish, use VERY, VERY, VERY little. For length I strongly suggest, not polish, but finer sanding grits, like 1200, 1500, then 2000 grit.

JUMP on it ... and be prepared for a ride !!!
BTW, they DO NOT make "crappy" balls ... they use no filler between the cores and coverstock material, and they use the highest quality particles and urethane for their coverstocks. They also test extensively and their cores are exceptional, IMHO.
The anyone out there that hasn't had success with a Legends/LaneMasters ball, I'd be willing to bet that the layout was not suited to your style and stats, and/or the conditions that you see where you bowl.
BTW, go to legendsbowling.com to get more info on the Yeah, Baby and for contact info to their tech support "guru", Galen Gentry.
Good luck and let us know how things turn out for you !!!

Well it is pre drilled and everything with about 50 games on it. I know most balls lose value fast after drilling and one game. The only company i know where you still pay 100 for used ball is lane1. So you guys say to take this ball out for a try. If I get it would it work well if I get it to work for longer more snap I dont really mean skid flip like the one or big one. I mean like start up at about 45 feet and super strong arc into the pocket. I got a Track animal and it handles oil well enough for me. Read my profile to get my stats for better help on this.

go to the legendsbowling.com website and click on the Yeah Bay for it's stats and characteristics; I have had 2 Animals, drilled very strong, and I'm pretty sure that the Yeah Baby could be stronger ... really depends upon you stats, the layout, coverstock "setting" and the conditions that you use it on. Charlest says that he RARELY can use his YB cuz there's simplyu not enough oil for it  ... and that ball NEEDS oil to shine !!!

I have been there, and well I can tell it is going to be a heavy oil machine but I got that covered. For the way I roll the animal is completly maxed. Now I want this ball to be the nice hard arcing ball for the little more oiled shots that my animal is still to strong for. Can this ball be that ball or is it more or less a one type of drill ball.

To REALLY be SURE, you'll have to call and speak to Galen at Legends to get that info ...  1-888-526-3645

Be ready to give him as much info on what balls that you have now and the layouts, conditions that you're bowling on, any stats on yourself (PAP, balls speed, etc), and what you'd like this ball to do ... that will be very informative to him and will maxumize the reselts that he can provide for you.
Godd luck !!!

(BTW, just buy it and send it to me ... I'll pay the shipping) !!!
