Sting vs. Terminator
« on: February 14, 2008, 02:41:48 PM »
So I'm thinking of buying a particle ball, and from what I've read L/LM has some good stuff.  I'm just not sure which of the two I would want.  Comments/suggestions?

Because your ball speed is higher than your rev rate, according to your profile, I suspect both balls will be good for you for medium oil, at best. If you sanded a ball to around 1500 - 2000 grit, either should handle more than medium, possibly as much as medium-heavy. If you sand the ball, I'd be inclined to suggest the Terminator because of the nature of its particles (dual types).

Because of the higher flare of the Term, it is slightly smoother than the Sting, which when polished, as it comes fromt he factory, has s some degree of flip to it. That flip may be reduced for you because of that higher ball speed.
