If one was to say, knock off the polish and use a nice white or light grey scotch brite pad.... would the terminator handle the LONG FLOOD patterns?

This is based on a person with 17mph speed, 45 axis tilt, lots of hand, and a high rev rate?

Just imagine for a second? It is THEE ball for heavy oil by LM/L's?

IMHO and my experience with it in two practice sessions (and still polished), yes ... but Galen would really be the one to ask this question.

I would say yes because I saw Chris Leftwich throwing his on wood lanes with less than medium oil late last Friday afternoon and he seemed to be having no problem with striking at will with his Terminator. I was bowling 4 lanes over from him and my World Class was hooking half way down the lanes and it's energy used up by the time it got to the pin deck, whereas Chris was simply destroying the rack with scouts flying every where every time he hit the pocket.

I would say that OOB it's a medium to medium-heavy ball; I rolled with it again today, and after a couple games of moving the oil around, it was stronger and I had to adjust and chase the oil line.
I actually "knocked the shine off" today before I left(took it to 1000 abralon), and I'll try it again on Wednesday.

Not a flood ball in box i think world class is stronger in oil overall, i scuffed it down in the track area still alot less ball than the action max i had with exact drillings on them.

I find the more oil i have the better the Wc becomes, still the new Action Max is oil monster even with a pin above the ring and no weight hole. I hate to say it the Action Max is easily 7-8 boards stronger even after the terminator was scuffed down to 1000 in track area. The terminator will have a home but it will be for games 2 and 3 of 1 st shift leagues, after the track has been blown open by the World Class and Action Max. I might even polish it up and play it as a swing ball on my 2 nd shift league, oob the masterpiece was stronger than the terminator also.

One thing to note my home house is now flooding the lanes because they are huge Ebonite shop pushing Infinite One's and Big One's. They do this to increase there pro shop business when everyone comes whining that the ball goes straight now. When i first started bowling there it was so dry that plastic hooked about 7 years ago, they figured out flooding the lanes makes them money in the pro shop.

Rob, note in my post about what Chris did with his Terminator, it appears that it will work for some people on less than medium oil. Of coarse, bear in mind that Chris has a lot of speed and a bunch of hand, so it might not work on the same conditions for someone like myself with slower speed and low revs. To sum it up, it's a case of matching the ball to the bowler.

I understand what people are saying and believe it, given the Terminator's polished finish.

However, in the new 2006/7 catalog, they now list, in their ball chart, the amount of oil a ball is designed to handle. Oddly the Terminator is listed as handling the largest amount of oil, more than the Big Bang and the World Class, and as having less length than the BB & the WC, their 2 previous best oilers.

Under normal circumstances, the more oil a ball can handle the earlier it will hook. With such balls as the WC and the BB and Brunswick's Ultimate Inferno and Strike Zone (Exact same covers, with exact same finish, but the SZ has a mass bias core, which makes it have more length and greater backend. They still handle the smae amounts of oil.), maybe we need to re-think the base characteristics of an "oiler".

So you're basically saying someone like me who like it long and have a late break will not work well with the WC, BB, and the Terminator..?? Or it all depends on the layout i pick for the ball. Because Personally I like polished balls over sheen finishing. So this is why I'm asking. THinking about gettin a whole new Arsenal with only polished L/L balls

It just depends on how the bowler throws. I mean I hear all these people talking about taking it down to 1000. There is no way I would get the reaction that I want out of the ball with that. The polish lets me throw it a little harder and then snaps at the end of the lane. I have used this ball in heavy oil and had to move right, but still works well and I have used this ball in less than medium and with speed and moving left this ball still works great.
