Xtreme Damage: First Three Games
« on: November 09, 2009, 04:02:13 PM »
Picked up my Xtreme Damage from Impact Pro Shop in Sun City, AZ. Patrick Knight punched this one out for me using a Vise thumb mold and inserts. The Pin is above the ring finger with the CG kicked right. 15 lbs, 1 oz, 3 1/2" pin. The color is listed as Ruby/Orange. S/N 689 (still on the shelf) is this color. My ball, S/N 688 is closer to caramel. It reminds me of an early-70's Columbia White Dot caramel. Started out with 4 in a row, then a solid 10-pin miss, two more strikes, a 2-4-5, then off the sheet for a 244. Second game: Started with the first eight in a row, then a solid-10 miss, two more strikes and a 4-pin for 266. Third game: Two light 7-pin spares, three strikes, solid-10 miss, strike, then 3-4-6-10 split, followed by a low pocket 7-10 split, followed by a 2-4-5-8 bucket spare, then a fill ball strike for a disappointing 181---691 series.

First impressions: The Xtreme Damage gets good length, retains energy well through the heads and midlane, then makes a strong, controlled turn. Similar reaction to my polished Black Diamond. My Xtreme carried slightly off-pocket hits well and carried a few hits that I thought would leave 10 pins. The left lane had a three pin off spot back and left a little all night, which caused everyone on the pair to leave ring-10s unless you hit high flush. I had a couple of messenger 10s that carried. My late third game struggles were more about me trying to stay too long on the 13 to 6 line without jumping across the track. It is promising that I was able to play this line for two and a half games without moving on a 5-man team league with nine righties on our pair. My current bag consists of a Black Diamond, then Xtreme Damage, then Buzz Attack, then Black Pearl Reactive. My tournament bag adds a pin-down Conquerer and either a Buzz or Hornet for the late burn. My Xtreme Damage fits nicely between my Black Diamond (solid medium-load particle, high differential RG) and Buzz Attack (Reactive Pearl with Mica soft particles, medium differential RG). The XD is a light load particle pearl with a high differential RG. I'll post a full review later when I get another 21 games or so on it.

got my xtreme damage drilled up yesterday. will try to post pictures later to show layout.

i can already tell that this is going to make a sweeeeeeet addition to my arsenal.

threw a couple of practice games with it before leagues to get a feel for it. got through the heads clean. was able to play deep inside, swinging the ball out. had a strong backend to it that just smashed the pocket.

took hand out of it and played straight down 5. ball held the line through the heads and had a strong backend to it.

shot 240 the firs game and 257 the second...

i know it's not much of a review but i wanted to share that this could be a huge seller for lanemasters.

Hey Guys!!

We had overwhelming orders come in when we released the ball. We did not expect the amount of orders we got because we did no advertising. The second run is started and on Monday we will start shipping again. I apologize for not making the first run longer. This is my fault as I did not see us selling more than 1500 units in the first run given the circumstances. Thanks to everyone for your support and hope you accept my apology. I will make sure we have plenty of stock on this next run. Thank you L/M faithful this ball is "THE BALL" this year.

I wish i could see LM/L on tour,I think they would be a powerhouse after some people started throwing them to see what they could do. These balls are just so controllable, readable, and versatile. They carry without a doubt as good, but in my opinion better than anything I have seen from other companies.

I think you would see alot of free agents throing them. Maybe some big names might make a convert and throw LM on the map big time.

I believe in this.

I had heard somewhere that they have to pay several thousand dollars PER approved ball (not sure if that's true). Guess that could add up if company has 10+ balls @ 10,000.00 ea. (per season)??, in any case, seems it can only help accelerate sales and notoriety, especially if the bigger name bowlers use their equipment.

I actually went to a proshop yesterday.  I was told they had a good selection of L/M balls.  There were none on display.  The proshop guy told me that since they are not approved for PBA, he cancelled his agreement.

But, he could order them for a premium.  I walked out.
