What do you guys think about lord field balls?
« on: June 03, 2013, 10:48:21 PM »
The title says it all... I'm fixing to carry lord field in my proshop and actually drill a couple for myself Wednesday. Do you guys feel like they are very good balls? And what balls should I just skip in general? Please staff members try to not praise every word etc. I loved the terminator cores so I'm looking forward to the Higgs force and the pin hacker. Thanks for your time fellows!

I have been pushing the Judgement, Korrupt and Big Hurt as of late, all have been great pieces.  The only ones I have not had particularly good look with were the Jacked and Nasty, they both only liked wood surfaces around my home area (didn't react well on my THS on synthetics).  The Exodus Iron was another one that did not match up well in my home bowling center, but faired well on older synthetic surfaces around town.  They Exodus Pearl and Exodus Solid perform well pretty much everywhere that has medium volumes of oil.  The Torment is a very special piece and would make an excellent benchmark ball on medium/medium light conditions from what I have seen in mine although I sold it recently, but have a NIB ready to drill when and if needed.  For the oiler condition and if you are a fan of the LM Terminator type weightblock I would hihgly recommend the Higgs Force.

What type/load of particle are they using in their stuff? I did well with the three Lane masters/Legends balls I tried because of my high ball speed and their grabby cover/strong arc type of roll.  I loved the New Standard, NS2, and Hornet for the drier stuff.  How reminiscent is Lord Field to that type of stuff?

John - as a (still current) LM bowler, I've not tried the Lord Field line yet, but everything I see indicates that all the good things you liked about LM/L, you'll like about Lord Field.  If you try a few and don't like them, you know where to find me so I can try them out myself.

Particle load range from low (1 gram) in balls like the Nasty and Off The Chain to a heavier load (3 grams) used in the Korrupt.

They are as smooth as any previous Lane Masters offering and quite durable and very easy to tune unlike the carbon and diamond particles from LM (which we all know how difficult is was to refinish those, unless you had the diamond pad to cut it).

I am very pleased with the 3 balls I have tried so far. The Korrupt, Big Hurt and Judgement have all been fun to throw. The Korrupt has been my favorite so far due to the strength of the cover and the finish threw the pins. Hopefully the Off The Chain will fit on the lower end of the arsenal to give me some range and flexibility in long format tournaments.

If you get a couple of customers to try them you will definitely see more come in to try them.

The Korrupt, Big Hurt and Exodus series balls are good but they need to be thrown on medium oil or more. They all roll early with a nice continuous arc on the backend. The new ball coming out mid June is called "Off the Chain". This will be the ball that will have that clean through the front and angular back. This ball has the Jacked core and Heritage cover. I think a lot of people will like this one very much.

The topic should read, how does non staff members like their equipment? Sorry.  About 99.5 percent of posts/responses about their equipment are staffers.  I Would really like to see responses from non staffers.  From what I can see, that's very hard to find.

Track_Fanatic,

Did you see my response to this post?  I am a staffer for Lord Field and posted an un-biased review of what equipment works and doesn't work and on what surfaces they are good for in my opinion based on the shots I see.  I have been on this site for a very long time and always, always post honest reviews regardless of which company I am associated with.

Pat,

I understand what you are saying about your reviews and you have been on this site a long time.  I appreciate that too.  I too, have been on here a long time. Not many posts though but i look at topics constantly and I know somewhat about bowling and equipment.  However, in my post I said it should read non-staffers.   I also said about 99.5% of posts/responses about Lord Field equipment is by staffers.  That's what I see.

From being on LordField staff until recently, LordField is recruiting Alot, I mean a lot of amateur staffers. One thing I didn't like. So people throwing LordField are basically gonna be staff members as Idk any shop on my area that carries them on shelf at all. So its hard to find non staffers throwing their stuff when no pro shops have inventory. Also pricing isn't the greatest, even for staff members.

I find this interesting.  Also makes sense now why you see 'staffers' posting topics or replying to Lord Field topics mostly.   Solidifies what I said in my previous comment.

Thanks everyone for the info... Any information is better than none sometimes whether it's coming from a staffer or not etc. I received my first set of balls in the shop today and I must say that the quality of balls are amazing. I had 7 balls and all the pins where around 3 inches and all the tops were either 2.8 or 3.1... That alone says Alot. Motiv has been another company to make very consistent products. To bad the bigger company's don't go to those measures...

My favorite balls so far have been the Judgement, Heritage, and Big Hurt. Very easy rolling balls. I have a lot of hand so I always like something that doesn't overreact. Trying to push the brand as much as I can in my area. People just need to give them a try and they will see they are a quality product.
