10 pin issues
« on: December 15, 2014, 06:48:15 AM »
Currently my 10 pin making is just horrid. I used to have a 16 lb black knight, but have switched over to a newer 15lb polar ice, due to wrist pain that the 16 lb caused. I dont want to say its just the ball, but I know I didnt have as many 10 pin issues then as I seem to now. Other than just practicing on the 10 pin, should I look at another spare ball?
There's two kinds of music METAL and bullshit!

I'm more comfortable using my old school urethane pieces -- Fab Burgundy Hammer and Columbia 300 Gold Dot -- for all of my spares except for maybe the 2-8 on short oil patterns whereby I could hook it into those pins `a la pre reactive days.

One thing I try to do is give myself more angle when the lanes are drier/hooking and less angle when there's less backend/oilier lanes. I also remind myself to relax my hand at the apex of my swing, which helps me to go hard and straight at my spares.
