13 LB ball for wife
« on: December 16, 2009, 12:12:47 AM »
I am buying the wife a new ball for Christmas, what ball should I get her? She is throwing 13lbs and i think that will limit down what she can get. She currently has a tropical storm with the Pin and cg almost on top of each other. And they are almost in the palm of the hand. I would like to get her something a little stronger. She has very low revs, and slow speeds. She would perfer storm but she really does not care.

there are a few balls that will work for her in many companys . Depends on if she is a girly girl and has color perference . As for storm these will work Fast , Reign , and the hyroad are all good bal choices with weak drilling . Columbia has Loud noize, sharp noize , bedlam, and the freeze. There are many more out there just have to look around for mid price pearl and u cant go wrong

She is thinking the Fast, do the hyroad or reign change the weight block at 13lbs?

I would go with the Fast, or the Columbia Freeze

Ebonite Magic:

Just drilled a 13lb for a lady a few weeks ago. Very nice motion to the pocket and hits very well.

with the weight blocks its tough to say . I have always been  told that 14-16 have same weight block. 13 and under have a generic style weight block . Best bet is either call manufacture or pro shop. The fast would be a nice step up or the freeze . Freeze has old modify messenger core with Momentum
cover stock. Another possibility would be any of the noize balls . They have weak cores but strong covers . It will help her get it down the lane but still recover

Make sure the driller determines her PAP location, confirming it with tape.  Most ladies tend to have low tracks, so a generic layout might not be as strong as you want it to be.  --  JohnP
