I do, because I bowl in a scratch league.

I do as well, however, I don't freak out if the shot isn't there.  Let me rephrase that...I don't freak out if I can't play the shot that is there

In most leagues the cream always rises to the top, so I don't see the point in trying to get a few extra sticks handicap. Besides, if you are not trying 100% every frame, why bother!

O dp try to find the shot that is there. But if I struggle, I am not worried, it is a long season and there is plenty of time to raise the average. Of course there is also time to lower the average.

I established a 224 average last week in a handicap league. I'm feeling better physically this year so I hope to keep that average and push it near or over 230. People know enough about me that if I was to go under 200 for any length of time I'm sure I'd hear about it even if half joking.

It's sooooooo much easier to lower your average than it is to raise it.

I always try hard to bowl good even though sometimes it may not look like it.

It doesn't matter what week it is, I always try my best.  There are those nights that I can't bowl my way out of a paper bag, I don't need to intentionally bowl off.

I'm always trying my best on the lanes...

...though last night I managed a 226 triplicate somehow without even knowing it!

I try because its a scratch league, but also because I set a goal to keep my average above a certain #.

In one of my leagues, A man, upset with handicap format, rolled a 278 series. He has a 215 book avg...  CLASSY...

I made the mistake of not practicing since bowling the Peterson tourney a couple of weeks ago, and man did it show the first night this week. My timing stinks, my release stinks, and I stunk. It was embarrasing shooting 525 with a 218 average from last year. I lost all three match points, but thank goodness the team won all our games. I had a rediculous 16 tenpins, and believe me I tried everything I could think of. I was so disgusted I went back down Thursday and trhew 6 games of practice to get this crap straight. We shall see.
