2009-10 Goals
« on: August 13, 2009, 03:43:05 PM »
Anyone have any goals set for this coming season? I love setting goals each year to see if I can reach them, whether they be short or long term...

Last season:

GOAL - RESULT

1 300 game - Threw 6
1 800 series - threw 4
25 700 series - threw 39 (I changed it to 40 with 5 weeks left after I had hit 30, and woulda had 40, but threw an 800 the second to last week, which threw me off by 1. What a cryin shame. :])
Average 225 for all leagues (4) : Finished with 229 and change. I also ended up with high average of the house (233).

This season:
3 300s
2 800s
45 700s
Average 230 for all leagues (only 3 this year)

What are some of your goals?

You may be the better bowler, but my car would blow the doors off of yours.

My goal is to be a better shotmaker at the end of the season than I am right now.

One pre-bowled before the first week, one post-bowled after the last week. Probably throw in a few 899s to keep the fans happy.

My actual goals:

Keep my emotions in check better
Roll the ball better overall/have less terrible shots
Have more fun bowling
Perform better under pressure

I just want to be better at single pin spares. I practiced all summer using my plastic ball and I feel a lot more confident.

I just want to be able to continue to bowl throughout the entire season and not be sidelined by injury or illness. I will hit the 3/4 century mark early in October and will be bowling two leagues.

I plan on improving my average at least a couple of pins.

My personal goals for 2009-2010:

I'd like to throw my 2nd 300
This is way too lofty, by my first 800
Average 210 or above for a year, finally, lol
Clean games, a lot of them...we bowl 108 games during my season, I'd like 35+ clean games.
Keep striving to be the best bowler I can be, and take a few lessons here and there.

this year, i want to average 220 in one league for the full season..and to do that, i need to eliminate the 2nd half fade that i seem to get starting in january.  otherwise, continue working on more consistent shot making, spare shooting, and continued improvement in the clutch.

goals:

1 300, would be my personal first
2 15 x 700
3 220 average (house best now is not even 220)
4 win lots of money
--------------------
When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

First off dont worry about all the people blasting you, it's just what happens around here. I figure where better to post your bowling achievments than on a bowling forum. You did FIGJAM a little bit but i think you're pretty grounded, at least you didnt compare yourself to the pros as ive seen plenty of people do.

to answer your post i just want to get my open frames down to 1 or 0 a game, i know i cant expect clean games every time but averaging 2 a game is killing my seemingly good games.

Im still chasing that elusive 300 but until i improve or see a coach about my consistancy issues ill settle for breaking my personal best 268

After taking last season off I agreed to go  back starting off week to week just to see how I do. So I don't really have any goals except for having fun.
