28 Ft Shoot and Cranker

This is a crankers nightmare - Anything you put on the lane is going to EXIT STAGE LEFT..  Any ideas beside just praying and throwing your arm out....

Small Question...

How do you drill a rubber ball?

Does it matter or what?

Those things are before my time...

I was in a league like this last summer.  Really hurt myself trying to throw it extremely hard.  When you said throw your arm out, that kind of got my attention.  You are either going to have to find a way to kill your release and know that unless you are really set in your normal way of throwing the ball it is going to have an effect on that as well as you are learning how to do both.  You have to be fully committed to wanting to learn to throw the ball a new way if you want to do this.

You may need different equipment to help out some and you may need to play a different line than you might be used to even with the new equipment.

It's all up to you in terms of what you want to do to conquer the condition...  I am not a cranker but I have been trying to experiment with that gutter shot on short oil after reading the "breakpoint zones" article on bowl4fun.com.  I still have to use my XXXL for this but it does work pretty good.

I would say take a weak piece, and fluff the crap out of it.  I faced a shot, not sure how far it was oiled, but basically the ball start hooking in my back swing, no matter how weak it was.

I moved as far right as I could, lofted it as far as I could, and got the ball as far left as I could.  I shot a couple 220's that way, but man it was taking it's toll.

I then took my weakest piece, moved left, and put absolutely nothing in it.  Much more comfortable, as I was not doing as much work, and still had the same results.

The next week I went back and brought a Urethane ball, and it was hooking at my feet.  I moved inside and could get the pocket with no carry.  I was just a sub, thank god.

Hehe.. Kinda funny people wanting him to break/kill his wrist in his stance, especially if he's a no-thumber.. I'd like to see how he'll figure that one out.. But yes, less revs and sideturn brother..

Another thing.. Why loft??? If there's oil on the lane, USE IT! Lofting will only make it worse for this guy.. Loft is for when the heads are gone..
You need to learn to either roll it more or play more up the back.. Get the ball to hook early and let it sail downlane..

If you're just looking for the magic ball, then go with plastic, and forget whatever i wrote earlier.. *Sigh*

Move your aim point further down the lane?  I used to bowl in center that put out a 30 foot patern.  The crankers ate it up!  Stand left, loft the gutter and strike all day long!

The White Dot in your local pro shop says, "Buy Me!"

Alternatively, you could just use a house ball...

Not trying to be ugly but learn to "bowl" not just heave the ball down the lane.

I've bowled on a 26ft Plastic practice pattern.  I was able to play near the gutter with my Rampage.  I had to be straight behind it, any side roll whatsoever was left in a hurry.
