I am still in shock and awe.  I don't know if the word has spread much yet, and I probably don't have much credit since I have only posted once before, but I witnessed a 900 last night.   Darin Pomije, owner of Strike Force Bowl in New Prague Minnesota threw 36 last night.

Yes, remember i made an a&$ of myself by saying that there were better feats that should go in sports illustrated than 2 300's in a row? someone on here remembers my posts at least!

I recall reading a few weeks ago that Arnie Goldman shot 46 of 48 in a doubles tournament with two 300 games. Awesome.

Another local guy shot 278-300-300 for 878 about 10 years ago....he was 15 at the time!

Sounds like Hammer is finally getting some respect.  I have been vERY impressed with them since Ebonite bought them.  I kind of got close last Wed night, I had 31 of 36.  Went 268, 279, 268 for 815 with a Sling Blade.  It felt so easy, I felt like I could have kicked it down the lane for a strike.  I really like the Sling, even though the reaction is a slide, hook, die right before the pins!!!

I hate to divert the direction of the topic, but which feat is more desirable? To break the singles record in the ABC Tournament in tough conditions, or shoot a 900 at home?

For me, it's no contest:  One Eagle trophy to go, please!

At least I can look at my league sponsor's Eagle every week when I bowl (S & B Pro Shop, who won the team event in Reno earlier this year).

Ironically enough, Darin shot it with the Hammer Deal, a ball that was to most a big flop. Once word gets around more and more, people will be searching long and hard for a Deal and a Real Deal (which on that note my buddy picked up a Real Deal and he said he has never had a ball hook as much as that one). Congrats again Darin!

more information on this tremendous accomplishment is posted on the abc website:

http://www.bowl.com/bowl/abc/common/news/record.html?record=8833

i've only seen one 800 series, and i thought it was absolutely incredible . . . 31 strikes and picking up a greek church by sending the 4 pin across the lane to take out the 6-9-10!!!

you can't put out a shot easy enough to take away the amazing feat of throwing 36 strikes in a row.

a sporting accomplishment of a lifetime . . .

The guy was the proprietor of the 8 lane house as well, but that still doesn't tarnish the 900 in my book.. He still had to knock em all down 36 straight times..

If they only made a ball that would carry that da_n 7 pin (and I am right handed!!)
