The main thing to consider is that some out of town guy came in as a sub and shot a 900, remarking that (in his own words) he had about 10-12 boards to play with.  Come on, if you have 12 boards, it's not as amazing an achievement as it sounds.  It's not hard to keep the ball on almost one THIRD of the lane for 36 shots....If I knew I had 10 boards to play with, I'd hit that area every shot with confidence...

Even if you have 10 boards to play with it still is amazing to carry 36 out of 36 shots.  Law of averages would think that you would get tapped atleast once or throw one really bad ball.

Right...but then that's not his talent, since carry involves luck.  For all we know, the shots he missed were brooklyn strikes and domino-effect strikes...I would be impressed if he hit his mark for 36 shots.  The fact that he was lucky enough to carry 36 times doesn't make me think he's amazing...

There's been accusations of pin-throwing on these 900s.  The story I've heard is apparently one of this kid's friends works in the back and has even told a few people that he'll throw pins for them and he's done it before for others.  Plus, all of these "900s" were pre-bowled by himself and not on league night.

Now before you bring up the Jeff Campbell argument on pre-bowled 900s, his was in a different center than league where he knew no one that worked there, plus he has hundreds of collegiate and top amatuer/professional bowlers that can vouch for his credibility.  This kid just came out of nowhere.

When you hear all of the details, everything sounds too fishy.  Even if the first one was legit, trying to falsify others should lead to death or banishment from any sanctioned organization.

....I was only joking about the death part, lol

One would think if something fishy was going on that
the USBC would make a visit. Until they do that, i have
no reason to think there was foul play involved.

One point that has been stated a few times is wrong.  He bowls at a center on an Army fort so it is doubtful that his father owns the center.  Most Army bowling centers are run by MWR and the center employees would therefore be working for MWR.  Now, his father might be the manager but probably not the owner.

Ok, carry-on.

Also the guy that shot another 900 in the same place said he had five or ten boards to play with I'm not the greatest but give me ten boards and I think I could do the same thing or certainly higher than the pros

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the USBC hasn't approved any of this.  And there is a reason for that.  They are looking into the validity of the claim.

And people gave me a hard time for questioning how legit it was right away---now there is a whole thread about it. Where were you guys a month ago when I said that anyone shooting 900 was a joke?

He throws the ball ok. Im not going to say anything worse or better about him. As far as the whole 10 boards thing...maybe I should bowl leagues there.
