I would like people to share what common misconceptions in bowling they are aware of in our sport...

the 'you average 210 you must be a professional' is the most annoying. one thing i like watching is people who average 210 in wednesday night league bowl on a sport condition and try and think of something to blame

I think one of the most common misconceptions is that you have to have the latest greatest ball of the month in order to bowl well.

That the more oil a ball can handle is equivalent to the amount of boards it can cover.

That all high average bowlers can coach.

You must be a good coach because you charge $100.

If you average 160 you can't be a good coach.

All 3 of those are misconceptions.

They define the "pocket as the ball getting any part of the 1 on the right side. I heard a guy complain about how he was in the pocket every shot and only shot 200 when I watched him leave 2 4-9s and a 2-4-7-10...
