the common misconception i am aware of is that the higher the pin the later the ball will roll... this is the case in some cases but not all... my attitude shift is drilled pin above fingers but is no wear near skid flippy (not only because the ball is designed to be arcy) because i have the CG under ring finger and pin above bridge so the mass bias is very near the VAL (this is what cause is it to be very rolly or arcy).

That somehow bowling should always be explained using golf analogies.

that the higher the hook potential of a ball, the better the ball must be

Ryan I have heard it and the more the ball hooks the better it is is a ridiculous one.
I also dislike the way people make themselves out to be a Robert Smith because they can circle the lane... when the ball is drilled like leverage with an x hole down off their axis point to increase flare with a brunswick fury at like 10mph

That bowling is just a stupid game and not a serious sport.

I understand the straighter is greater, but I think that it is also a misconception. I think doing what you know best... is greater.

however if you throw it straighter your not standing on board 15 on one lane and 27 on another you are standing on 5 and 6 or 5 and 7 with quite small differences between lanes... and on tough conditions you can keep the ball on line alot more and if you miss you have less chance of being left with a total disaster
