A new website goes live
« on: November 18, 2003, 05:09:53 AM »
Ok, I just launched a new website.  It's worth a look for those looking for a bargain.

Fittingly enough it is called, BowlersBargains.com, hehe.

Basically, it's new equipment being sold at a reduced price because they are half weights or blems or over-runs or overseas models, etc...

Don't worry, I won't bump this thread unnecessarily.

Oh and if you contact them, let them know Tony sent ya!

Thanks Tony.  Just wondering though, why do they call the 1/2 weights blems??  Seems like we used to be able to get different weights in case we didn't want to drop the full pound in weight.

Pretty much anything can make a ball a "blem"... extreme pins, top weights, scratch on the logo, yada yada.  Half weights are not popular and are considered blems, from what I recall.

I got the site working fine...
LOVE THE PRICES!!
I see that you're in the Castaway's, as one of your locations...I live in town.
I'd like more info on those $89.00 X-Factors. Could you explain the following..

Storm Half/Heavy Weights
M = Medium which are 5-9 ounces, ie 15M is 15.5 through 15.9 oz
H = Heavy which are 10-13 ounces, ie 15H is 15.10 through 15.13 oz

Well, it's not MY site, I just developed it.  Call the toll free 877 number tomorrow and talk to them.  You can visit their pro shops, but I don't think they carry those balls in stock. Not sure.  Call first.  The problem with this site is that they have limited quantities, they don't make too many of these pieces.  Well maybe the overseas items, but the others are... awww, what do I know?  Talk to Ron.  He'll tell you the 4-11.

yah are they blems and after taxes is shipping included?

Here is the info taken straight from the site:

All balls are shipped UPS from Las Vegas, no tax outside Nevada. Your credit card will not be charged until your order is shipped. All balls will be shipped regular UPS unless otherwise requested by customer. Regular shipping to the continental U.S. 48 states will be a maximum of $10.00 US.

I'm sure they can quote you over the phone.

The site is new and the products from these companies, all of which come out of the same manufacturing plant, are all that's being offered right now.  But the products offered will change monthly.

BowlersBargains.com is new but the guy who runs it is an established presence in the industry and I'll wager if the demand is there other manufacturers will be offered.  Again, call them or complete the form on Contact Us.

It's surprising that no one else seems to be offering these types of products at these prices.  Kinda wish I thought of it.

Tony,

You may want to edit the definitions of "medium" and "heavy" weights.  The way it reads now is confusing.  When I see a ball weight of "15.5", I would think of 15#, 8 oz; a ball weight of "15.10" translates to me as almost 15#, 2 oz.  Basically the opposite of what you intended.  I know you have it explained well enough, but invariably someone will misinterpret it and order the wrong ball weight.  Just food for thought.
