A side-wow . .
« on: January 28, 2004, 11:34:12 AM »
Another buddy of mine FINALLY shot his first 300 tonight.  He's been so close a half million times that it's not even funny.  Prior to this, he's had the front 10 once (left a solid 9 on the 11th), the front 9 three times, the front 8 at least a dozen times.  It's always small stuff too.  A mixer 7, ring 10 (not flat), 9 pins, 8 pins, you name it.  Finally got all 12, and I can't remember being happier to see somebody get that big 3-0-0.  We all knew it was going to happen, it was just a matter of when.  We've been teasing him about it, because his dad's had a 300, and his younger brother shot one earlier this year.  One of my friends said it the best when we were talking about this guy needing to hurry up and get it out of the way, lol.  "Oh, it's inevitable.  I don't know when he'll do it, but I don't see how he can avoid it the way he's been bowling.  He'll get the first one under his belt and then probably have 6 more before the year's out."

It was the last game of the set, and we put together a nice team game of 804 (three-man teams).  The boss shot 225, my buddy shot the 300, and I shot 279 (mixer 7 in the 5th).  Too bad it's second in the league to an 834 . .  We shot 798 earlier this year too.  It would be fourth in the league.
