Not lately... unless they aren't at the exempt level.

Your release must've changed quite a bit, since, as per your profile, you have been a spinner (low track).

Were you consciously trying to change to a higher roll?  If not, what have you changed in your mechanics?

You say that you fear becoming a full roller?  It's not all that bad, the main thing you have to deal with is people that don't know about full rollers asking "Why is your pin down by your thumb?"  Honestly, it's not the end of the world being a full roller.

I bowl with one full roller who bowls very well, and he hooks the ball a ton. The only problem is, he relies heavily on equipment (since his speed and release are always the same).

"Ummmm...... full rollers CAN NOT hook the ball a ton. You are mistaken, or have never seen a real bowler b4, lol, lol."

Thewatcher.....I will have to disagree with you.  I am a full roller, and have no problems hooking the ball a ton.

Perhaps you have never seen a true full roller "BEFORE".
His ball track intersects his grip center. His ball is drilled with the pin in a 7:30 direction of his grip center. He swings the ball across the 15 board to a breakpoint of 5 on a very soupy THS. His ball speed is around 15-16 mph.
I believe it is you who is mistaken

Yeah.. full rollers definitely can hook the ball a ton and score.  We have a lefty full roller who definitely fits the "cranker" mold and happens to track between his fingers/thumb.  He's been in the top 5 in our association in average for the past several years and regularly cashes are states/nationals each year.  He gets the same type of roll on the ball each time...but thats not a bad thing... makes adjustments/equipment choices easier.

I drill for a true full roller by nature.  His spareball and low flaring balls intersect his grip, but for most of his equipment I use high pin non traditional layouts with exotic x hole placements to migrate the flare a bit different.  He was measured on BowlersMAP software at 19.5mph and 515rpms.  I also know a two handed bowler that tracks like a rull roller and has similar specs as above.

Full Rollers can hook it.  Alot.

15 to 5 is not hooking it a ton. I can make my Scout hook that much.

The point of my post was that a full roller can bend the ball.
When you say "full roller" to some guys, they envision the ball rolling end over end (as in when you kill the shot to shoot at spares). That is not a full roller.
As for you and what you bring to the discussion...
I am glad you can hook your Scout. I am so proud of you.

Most of the classic full rollers I have seen can not hook it much.

I have seen one cranker full roller who hooked it a lot....but still less than other crankers of his rev/speed profile.

I believe in general the genre..."Full Roller" hooks it less than others of the same revs/speed continuem.

Also MOST suffer on carrydown from my own observations
