Ball companies....please bring back the following
« on: February 28, 2005, 03:17:20 AM »
If you had the chance to play the role of a ball company president and could bring back any number of bowling balls that are discontinued, what would you bring back and why? Doesn't matter if it's rubber, plastic, urethane, resin, particle- or a combination. This can also be from current companies as well as defunct ones...

Remember the days of the original Blue Hammer that held the interest of everyone in the 80's? I also remember the fury over the original Teal Rhino Pro from Brunswick. Every college bowler had at least one in their bag in the early 90's that I remember...

Would love to see what everyone else would want the ball companies to reproduce- or are they enough core/cover combinations to get the look you desire from a new ball that reacts similar to an old standby?

Matt

Threw my 2nd highest series ever with the AMF Sumo.  What a laugh!!!  Straight up 5, turn your back.  I loved that ball!!!!

2nd favorite ball, the light blue Surge.  Threw more low to mid 700's with that ball than any other ball I ever had.  Such a predictable roll.  A little tear wells up in the corner of my eye when I see one left for dead in my bowling center's ball racks.

The Quantum Helix was a good idea with a bad implementation.  How bout a modification of that with a "ball cap" 3inches off the fingers and thumb of a reactive cover.  The remaining 70% of the ball could be urethane?

I have a NIB 15lb. Surge still sitting at home.  Jealous???

Shot my first 800 with an old one that I still having lying around somewhere.

But the ball I would love to see back is the Sky Bolt from Storm.  Just loved it.
