I just wanted to know why balls crack around the fingers and is there something that can be done to prevent this.. Is it the pro shop man or is it me..

If it is hairline cracks around the finger holes, it could possibly be that the driller did not bevel the holes properly or his drill bit might have been dull, creating some heat while drilling the holes. If it is small chips at the finger hole edges then the driller didn't bevel the holes.

Wait a minute, you ask for an opinion, then jump down his throat for suggesting it could be the driller after you asked if it was the pro shop or you?

My knowledge is limited, but from what I understand, it depends on the type of crack.  My brother had 2 Paradigms and both cracked around the thumbs for no apparent reason.  The 2nd one I think happened within 3 games of being drilled.  He was able to get Storm to replace both and no extra cost.  Sometimes, it's probably going to happen no matter what you or the pro shop does.

I've also heard that balls are never really done curring and get more brittle as time goes on and become more prone to cracking and damage overall.
