Ball Reccomendations?
« on: July 05, 2017, 10:02:41 PM »
Hey guys. I am currently 14. Been bowling for a couple weeks. I have been trouble getting hook with one hand on a house ball, and i joked around with two hands. It actually created a lot of hook. Im pretty average for someone new and I average 100 per game. I want to buy a ball thats good for 2 handed bowlers who arent very experienced like me. I throw 9-10 lbs but i can go up to 12 at most. Thanks! Leave suggestions below

House balls aren't really meant to hook unless you put a ton of revs like you see when you used two hands. I would talk to the pro shop operator in your local area about getting an entry level ball, something that has a reactive cover.

And stick to a price point
you should be able to get something for 100 bucks or less before drilling

I have seen it recommended to buy shoes before a ball as they will pay for themselves very quickly and won't get John Q Public's athlete's foot as well.  Does sound like the way to go.  Plastic for a first ball won't give you hook but they are generally cheap and as a side bonus if you do get serious about bowling you can always use it as a spare ball when you add other balls to your arsenal.  Being 14 I wouldn't spend too much on balls in general though as your hands and strength are still increasing.  Still bowling rules and welcome to the sport and may you fall in love with it also.
