Best Heavy Oil Ball
« on: May 03, 2018, 11:44:25 PM »
So what is the ball that will hook when other balls won't?  The ball that won't quit moving.  Right now from what I have seen the RIP'D Solid looks pretty good.  I don't have it, but that ball seems to really move in the oil when others don't and it also doesn't seem to burn up.  Seems like you can get a lot deeper than you would expect and the ball just keeps coming back.

Anyone have any opinions of the RIP'D Solid or any other ball that you would recommend?

My Green Quantum out hooks my More Cash on every house shot I have ever bowled on both with.  There is a ball very hard to blow through the break point.

I've been wanting to take a look at the Green Quantum based on your reviews.

I like it but have to keep it polished on house shot or it will burn up some (though high RG doesn't really allow it to burn up and not hook more burn up and hit a bit soft).  As far as I can tell it can handle more oil than any other recent 2 piece ball released.  On regular house shot for most people to be honest though it may be too strong and eat up the shot (don't bowl sport shots so can't speak to those) but have yet to see it not turn in the oil.

I would have to say the Storm Marvel-S in true heavy oil.
The Roto-Grip Idol is pretty awesome too.

In true heavy oil, you can make almost anything work --- get out the abralon pads.  You are not going to be playing a lot of head belly, so sand away !!

I would actually agree about the Marvel-S.  It wasn't going to cover the whole lane for me, but the Marvel-S would read and move more when everything else was sliding and doing nothing.
