Best way to play ABT #8 pattern
« on: May 10, 2017, 09:16:13 AM »
Studying ways to best play this pattern. It seems close to the Cheetah with an extra foot of oil. Am I correct in thinking 10 to 5 at 36' and as it breaks down move right to take it more straight. Also thinking my No Rules with the Pin drilled out at ring finger and move to a Hybrid.

What would a pearl do on this?

Ball Speed 18.5
Rev Rate about 300 - 325

Thanks!

It really depends on your style.  You have the right idea about playing the break point well outside, but the amount of out angle you can play will depend on your rev rate axis rotation, and ball speed.  Cheetah is a high scoring pattern because it is crowned enough to allow multiple styles to attack it.  Not sure if that is true of the ABT pattern

it looks very similar to the Kegel Boardwalk pattern but flatter.
Boardwalk is 2.11:1 while this is 1.42: It will depend on lane surface and topography.

It's not too different from the old 37' Viper and on that shot I played outside with a DV8 Freak Show Solid and moved inside with a Brunswick Absolute Nirvana for the 4th game and I should have done it earlier in the 3rd game.

When I've bowled on Boardwalk it hooked a lot but I've only bowled it on high friction lanes
