Blistered ring finger
« on: April 18, 2008, 12:52:17 PM »
I've only been bowling since last september, but in the last two or so weeks I have gotten a bad blister on my ring finger and can't figure out why . I don't feel that I have changed anything about my release and cant figure out whats going on. I have asked my local pro shop and they seem pretty useless with any input. Can anyone shine a little light on this for me ? thanks

Are you stuffing your fingers in too far, trying to get a little extra oomph on the ball??
Gives me one every time..

Where is the blistering located on your ring finger?  Can you tell us what your finger pitches are?  --  JohnP

The blistering is on the tip of the finger opposite the nail. I do not know the pitch. I have a few different balls drilled by two different pro shops. Neither shops have drilled the balls the same. I can not say which shop drilled them better. Neither shop asked how I bowled or how I would like them drilled. I am new at all of this and don't have anyone to turn to for proper advise. I do know that the pitch in the thumb holes from one shop to the other is different. If I go from one to the other the ball will either fall off of my hand until I get used to it or I end up lofting it until I adjust.

Talk to some of the better bowlers at your center and find out who drills their balls.  You need personal help from a good fitter/driller.  --  JohnP
