BOWLING SIDE GAMES
« on: June 12, 2010, 08:36:47 AM »
Trying to get together a 1st Thursday of the month bowling side pot bonanza and looking for side games to add to the night.
Here are some side games I can think of..

Brackets
High game and high series side pot
Mystery doubles
Most strikes in a row from the beginning of each game
mystery strike frames.. pull three or four frames out of a hat and put in an envelope.. at the end of the game open the envelope and if anyone has strikes in all of those frames they win the pot..if no one does then it rolls to the next game..
clean game pot

have any others??

Strike out the 10th in each game pot, Run this during League and it goes over pretty well. Must throw 3 strikes in each 10th frame. League normally $3 a week.

Texas hold-em pot has been very popular lately.

$5 gets you in to see 2 cards. Must be within 20 pins of avg. first game to see flop.

Must be within 10 pins second game to see turn card.

Must hit average in the third game to see river.

It is a nice combination of skill and luck.

i like playing scratch against everyone in a pool

1. if u lose to 201, lose 1 point, losing to 221... 2 points, losing to 241... 3 points, losing to 261... 4 points, losing to 281 5 points, losing to perfect game... 6 points. over 201 but losing to 221 is 1 point and so on.

u play against everyone, each point assigned to a dollar value, we play 2 bucks per point.

2. 5 dollars against everybody in the pool, 1st place on 7 players pool is 30 bucks

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

Clean set pot has gone over really well around here. We charge between $2.00 and $5.00 for each week.  The pot carries over until one person has a 'clean set.'  We only have one rule--you cannot get in one week and then not the next week and then back in the next.  Once you don't pay one week--you are out until somebody hits the pot.

300 pot - strike the first 9 frames in a combination of any of the 3 games and then must strike out the 10th of the 3rd game

Team 300 pot $10 team. same as above and someone must strike out the 10th the 3rd game. Also 2 teams tie and it rolls over

decreasing 3rd game pot $2/week. Must shoot 300 3rd game to win 1st week. No winner then it drops to 299 or better to win. week 3 298 or better. if it gets down to 279 it doesn't get any lower. In our 28 team league it got to over 3 grand before it was broken.

7 of 9  $5/week must strike 7 out of the 9 possibilities  in the 10th to win

Random score--- draw or randomly generate a score or 100 - 300. Someone hits that score they get the money if they don't then rolls over to next week. Then a new random score is generated. Gives everyone a shot to win.

Bowling is like life. Sometimes you are the ball. Other times you are the pins.
