BR2007 Dates
« on: January 12, 2007, 11:13:03 AM »
I just got off the phone with Ron Clifton (MagicCarpet).  This years gathering will be held Jul 27-28-29.  Lanes will be available on the 26th for those of you that arrive earlier.

Address:

Creekside Lanes
1450 Trademart Blvd
Winston-Salem, NC

The hotel of choice seems to be the Extended Stay.  They have the best rates and easy access to the bowling alley.

When the date gets a little closer I'll check with the ball companies and see what freebies we can get from them.

Hope to see all of you there this year.

Will anyone be bowling on that thursday?  My crew will be probably be there sometime in the afternoon, and we'll likely bowl or something.  Just curious if anyone else will be there that day.

Andy-

I'll be there and I am sure there will be a few of us non-golfers there.

I arrive Wednesday afternoon in Raleigh-Durham, so will get to Winston-Salem some time early evening Wednesday.

Depending on what time we're done golfing, I might be around.  I have my PBA experience league that night, so even if I do, I won't be around much.  I'll stop back after league to see who's there.  If anyone gets there Wednesday night, I think they put the PBA shot out for practice for $1/game.  I can double check if anyone is interested.  If anyone's bored Thursday night, they can tag along with me and watch me butcher the PBA league (Scorpion?).

My flight arrives 3:55PM Raleigh Durham.  By the time I get my luggage, rental car and make the drive it will probably be somewhere around 7PM.  I'll probably just do like last year and relax at the hotel Wednesday.

I'm not sure about bowling after having gotten up about 3AM  (Pacific Daylight Time) to catch the 4AM FlyAway to LAX for a 6:05 AM flight.  But then with the time difference and being a Bowl-aholic... who knows?

TP -- I'm sure your flights are already set, but next time you might check on flights into Greensboro, quite a bit closer than Raleigh.  --  JohnP

I am using a Southwest voucher, so the round trip flights only cost me $7.50 (plus the points I earned from other trips - flights, rental cars, and hotels).  Flying straight into Greensboro (which Southwest doesn't do) would cost about $400.  I did fly into Greensboro until last year.  Last year I used a voucher also and the drive isn't bad at all.

You also never know how airfare works from month to month.  When we went to Reno, I flew out of Raleigh and saved $200/ticket compared to Greensboro.  Raleigh, Roanoke, and Charlotte are all within 1.5 hours drive of Greensboro.

Hi everyone, I haven't been around much as the Misses and I are on the road and presently in Chicago.  We'll be driving to the UP of Michigan for a few days and then on to Ohio for about 10 days before heading to the Winston area.  We should be there Thursday evening some time and will check into the lanes to see if anyone is about.

We'll try to set the golf up for no later than 9:00.  Probably closer to 8:00 depending.  That should get us done by lunch-ish and give others time to bowl, too, if they like.

Bump.

Less than two weeks to go.

How about a head count for poker.  I assume I know a few people who are in, but I'd like to get a more solid number.

I'm not a poker player or golfer so count me out for both.

I'm in for poker, not sure if you were counting me or not.  As long as it saturday night after bowling,  I can only come up on saturday as usual.
