buying a new ball
« on: August 12, 2003, 04:08:01 AM »
im looking to get a new ball and have narrowed down what i want to these balls. also include how it lasts because that has been an issue with me in the past with some balls: raging inferno, throttle, wow, wow pearl, tpc player, apex obsession, apex addiction, v2 strong, diesel particle, phenom. im looking for a medium to heavy oil particle that isnt too strong but is strong enough. any help would be appreciated

from your list, I own the WOW. It is a great ball for med-heavy oil. Not real impressed with the pearl wow though.

Almost all of the balls on your list are monsters and are relatively new except for the Wow, Wow Pearl and Diesel particle. The V2 Strong and Diesel are probably your best options from what you describe you want.

From your list, I would suggest the V2 Strong or Raging Inferno. I have a friend with a WOW and he is not all that happy with it in heavier oil. He has better success with the V2 line of balls. (Solid and Particle)

I have to agree.  The V2 Strong would be an excellent choice.  Another ball you did not list was a Throttle.

From what I have heard, everyone that throws the WOW must have no hand whatsoever if they don't like it in the oil.  I love this ball on everything from HEAVY oil to medium oil.  I guess maybe I am just more versitile in my release than others.  I am by no means a great bowler, but I can get this ball to hook in oil, and when they are a little drier, I can get this ball up the lane by increasing my speed or by taking some hand out of the ball.

Out of the balls listed, I only own the WOW, so I can't really compare, however, I do recommend this ball.

how long has ur wow lasted? and by that i mean has it lost hook after around 100-200 games like most c-300 particles i've tried? like, i no it will still hook, but does it still post the huge games and awesome hook as it did for the first 100 games?
