Carrydown...would this work??????
« on: October 10, 2003, 01:52:55 AM »
Scenerio...LHer, THS, throwing over 4th arrow..can the bowler switch to 3rd arrow after so long due to more oil being carried down the lane during the night? (I love the 3rd but the ball seems to be coming up too soon.) Just wandering....

Rantings--Not exactly sure if you are left handed why would you see a lot of carry down?  Are you bowling with a large number of lefties on your pair?

Typically lefties see very little lane conditioner carried to the back end.  They may see a bit but not like the right side of the lane.

With the type of condition you mention at least on the right side of the lane.  I use a 135 degree control drilling with the pin over my index finger and an X hole left on the negative side of the ball left of my bow tie.  It's an older Storm Bolt I had drilled this way.  I move to the edge of the dirt with more speed and forward roll.  Gets the ball down the lane but the moderate flare of a Bolt kicks in and gives me the carry other urethane and other balls can't.

Maybe this helps.
