Congratulations Pin Krusher
« on: July 06, 2003, 06:15:54 PM »
Yesterday afternoon, as I watched events unfold at the ABT Chicagoland North Division Firecracker Singles Tournament, I began to compose an article in my head to be posted on BallReviews.com today.  Our own Pin Krusher, not to be confused with Pin_Krusher, or anyone else for that matter , was working his way into the top twelve finals.  His ultimate goal:  First prize in the Classic Division, worth $2500 “plus ABT Bonus Bucks possibilities” as our director so often announces.

Although I cannot report that PK reached that ultimate goal, I am able to report that he got through his first round of match play before losing in the next round.  That enabled him to finished tied for fifth, which still netted him a nice paycheck.  In addition to the paycheck, PK came away with experience that one cannot gain from practice, and that is the experience of actually bowling in head-to-head match play finals to win a tournament.

If anyone is interested in more information about the tournament, the results should be posted on the ABT Chicagoland North website by Wednesday.  Here is the link:

http://www.amateurbowlerstourchgo.com/whats_new.htm

I know that PK enjoyed himself and I would just like to take this opportunity to once again say “Congratulations, Pin Krusher, on a job well done!”

Thanks Rick !
Rick was there rooting me on as well as "The Warden".
She was there protecting her investment.

I am living proof that ANYONE has a chance at winning a handicapped tournament!

While I didn't shoot all that great, I did manage to stay ahead of most of my opponents. Even heard one guy mutter," J.C., and these people beat me out!" after some missed easy spares.

Even used the Lane #1 ball I had won from Scott's Online Tournament!

Now all I need is some lessons from Sr. Kegler and I might actually take 1st place the next time!

Congratulations!  Sounds like you must have made it out of the Sub500 Club!

I was there this pass weekend.  It was may first ABT tournament.  I will be back. I miss the cut by 2 pins in the Master Division.  Had a good time.  I may try to make either the Combination Doubles or Summer Sizzler.  It depends on my Fall League schedule.

Congrats PK.  It wasn't easy with the Control Oil they put down.

Way to go PK.  I was there this weekend too.  For the second time out of my last three tournaments, I missed the Masters cut by 1 pin.

Do you people really believe that?  Did anyone check his ID.  No way the king of pin whiffers could get that lucky for so many games.  I’d bet it was Pin_Krusher bowling for him.  Why else would anyone want to be associated with that screen name.

I’ve seen this guy bowl, even Lane 1 equipment can’t help him score like that.   Closest analogy I can come up with is Thongprincess winning a PWBA tournament or Mike Desantis winning on tour.  Odds are about the same.

Thanks to everyone!

cb - Barely out of the Sub 500 Club.

Doc - Reverse Bagger maybe, the more beer I drank, the better I bowled. Baggers usually blame it on drinking too much, don't they ?

Pin_Krusher - That is scary because I do have an evil twin brother, well maybe not that evil.

Dom - I know how you feel, last year Northface beat me out of the finals of one of the tourneys by 1 pin.

Sr. Kegler - Luckily Rick was there to be my witness! You are just mad because I got to bowl and have fun and you had to work! Although I will trade my check for yours anyday!

Maybe I need to repost now that PK is kissing pins rather than krushing them.

O and OLI,
That hurts.  I don't know which is worse - to miss by more than a hundred like me or to be that close.

OLI, I should be around for most of the Summer Sizzler, so if you feel like it, look me up.  I'll be the tall grey-haired guy, probably wearing a red vest.  My ABT associates have started calling me the "Silver Fox."  Those who were at the NC BallReviews gathering should get the significance of that handle - lol.

Rick,
I don't remember on tall gray hair guy.  Unless you were weighting balls when I first came in.  I thought I saw very red shirt there.

OLI,
You might have been there Friday.  I wasn't there at all Friday - too many parades, barbecues, and concerts.  I was there all day Saturday, although I did take time off to bowl at noon and again at 6:00 with the aforementioned results.  I didn't weigh any balls this tournament, although sometimes I end up doing that as well.
