...dealing w/ house hacks....
« on: April 21, 2005, 12:38:34 AM »
i would just to get everyone's opinion of this particular topic...like what the titles says how do you go about dealing w/ house hacks and try to be as polite as possible...there was especially this one instance where the guy had strung the first seven but managed to throw a stone 8 on the 8th frame but being the [insert deragatory comment here] that he was changed the score to a strike and then still had the ball to say can try and beat my 297...since he did this on open play i let him slide with the comment...but imho bowlers especially like them just lack knowledge about the game and im willing to tolerate with to a certain extent but seriously need to be taught...i mean these hacks complain about not carrying thier corner pins at times eventhough they think they threw a pocket while from my perspective it came to pocket flat as a pancake....i guess im just venting here a little bit about my frustations in dealing with such players....

It was open play, who cares. If he / she is practicing and tracking those scores well ........ like I said who cares.  I once scored 100 points, and hit 5 home runs in a back yard wiffle ball game.  ESPN did not air any coverage on my great accomplishment that night???? Get what I'm saying Lefty?  Who cares and you should not either.  LOLOLOL

If he changes score there, obviously THAT is another issue.  I have learned thru my life that those who talk the talk, usually dont walk the walk.

Politely acknowledge bowler A's accomplishment, but, desire down deep inside to beat them.  And when u do, you will have pride in two areas.  One your were publicly gracious and internally you are beaming with pride your own accomplishmets.

...okay about the open play well yeah it was open play but also he was playing against to other guys and they had a wager going on....granted if he didnt change the score he still wouldve been around the 270's and the other guys threw in the two teens or something....

and as far as the other post i agree with pretty much everything in it and thats has been commented on by everyone else...

im still a working progress with my b game...playing up the boards on the outside and track area is my "bread and butter" shot but progressively learning how to play the inside lines just in case the lane calls for it...

I usually ignore the house hack unless he's mouthy.  I had to deal with a drunk, loud house hack a few weeks ago (he donated to my bowling fund).  Since, he's been quiet, at least while I'm around.  I was hoping he'd want a rematch, but he hasn't asked for one.

300's and 900's are easy when you only count the strikes.  Why let it bother you?  If he's stupid enough to convince himself that his games are legit when he alters the score based on what he felt "should have been", then he's not worth the time to worry about.  I knew a kid like that - still claims to shoot at least one 300 every week (he's a 160-170 average bowler at best).  We make fun of him - not because of his average, but because he's dumb enough to go around bragging about games he's never thrown.  It's kinda sad really, but oh well.
