So if one bad word on daytime television is ok, how many have to be said for it not to be ok, or is any language ok?

What about the young-uns in the audience?

The thing about the young girl actually happened to my brother.  He and his 10 year old daughter went to the lanes for league, while standing near the front desk my brother could hear the owners son cussing up a storm in normal conversation.  My brother politely told him, please watch the langauge I have my 10 year old daughter here.  He said oh, sorry.  As soon as my brother turned around he went right back to cussing up a storm also saying, if he doesn't like the language, he shouldn't bring his daughter to a bowling alley.

My 4 yr old son has said that as well as dropped the f bomb. No matter how we try to protect our children from people swearing they will still hear it. As mentions already it is on tv shows in movies in public. They will hear it no matter what we do. It is time for people to learn this. I am not saying it is right for them to hear it but they do. If you don't want your kids to hear it don't bring them places don't let them watch tv or movies or even listen to music. You can't even bring them to school cause they will hear it there from their friends or classmates.

Thank you for the kind words cool rockin daddy.  I guess I thought many more would agree with me rather in favor of the language.  Like I said before, I respect others opinions but mine is that language like that shouldn't be on air during a day time broadcast.  I realize that our children hear this language a lot more then we think and probably use it at a lot youner age then we like, but the children should know of time and place and on television and near a lot of in person viewers, this was not the right place or the right time for such language and shouldn't be defended.

Nic,
It's pay TV. It is a medium that started so networks could push the envelope of language, violence and sex without you leaving your home. This includes sports programming. ESPN is a network aimed toward men 18 to 45. The PBA is aimed toward adults that spend money with sponsors. That is why they glorify bowlers like Pete Weber. Your child is not in the demographic.

Sorry, Nicanor.  I have to side w/others on this one.  It's not like he said the F word, or said it on purpose knowing he was on camera.  You could always write ESPN.  It was their telecast.  Like others have said, it's on cable tv, not national or local networking.  Believe it or not, ESPN is targeting some of those "Bear drinking, Pick-up driving, couch potatoes" out there.  Plus, they replay a censored version on Mondays on the Classic at 11:00 am central time.  Tape that & then watch it.  Guys on here will let you know if somebody swore on the telecast or not.  They'll also tell you who won before you had a chance to watch it, LOL.

So why did ESPN delete that comment from the replay Monday morning.  Because when they reviewed the tape they knew it shouldn't have been said.  Bet Simard even got fined for using profanity.

Well of course they don't want profanity on the air.  But they also realize that it's going to happen when you broadcast professional sports in a live venue.

I didn't know my 6 year old nephew posted on the forums, "Awwww, someone said the S word", as he would say. He knows the word sh*t but also knows he's not supposed to use it. Its not about sheltering your kids from all that is bad, its about letting them know bad things/words/people exist and teaching them right from wrong. Kenny was very excited, as any one of us would have been, and I don't see anything wrong with the way he responded.

ya because we never heard any cuss words when we were young. I'm tired of the posts. So what if they cuss. If you don't like it, go to church.

Cool Rokin Daddy just had the best line.

The Pussification of America   lol

It happens, get over it.  GIves you a great chance to be a good Dad and explain why your son shouldn't use that word.

Better than if he hears it away from you. At least now you had a chance to nip it in the bud.  My questions for Nic, since he is all over his soapbox, is did you talk to your son right awya about it?
