White tape too tacky?
« on: April 16, 2014, 02:24:03 PM »
I've always used Master White tape because it wasn't as tacky as Ebonite white tape. I ordered a new pack and it is just as tacky as the ebonite if not worse. My thumb swells and shrinks sometimes 8 pieces of tape sometimes none.

Have any of you had this problem? I'm screwed. And yes I've been wiki fitted and been fitted by a dozen drillers trying to get my thumb to stop doing it with no luck. I'm very tempted to start two handing just for the simple of fact of not dealing with a thumb hole.

Carpet Tape..used it for years....snug fit, clean off my hand...

Is that Ron Clifton's Magic Carpet? I have some, but I have not yet tried it.

There was a thread earlier on sticky white tape, it is a manufacturing problem and the Powerhouse tape was found to be the only one that didn't have the problem (you can search for the thread).  Take the 8 pieces of tape out and put the MC in the back of the hole.  8 pieces is a lot of tape, so the hole will probably still be a little loose, add the Ebonite Powerhouse white tape one piece at a time until you get a good release.  Then you shouldn't have to add/subtract tape so often.  If the white tape is too sticky for you, add one piece of black tape on top of the white.  --  JohnP

My bad...it's called "magic carpet" tape and not carpet tape...
