Enough negativity....

I'm as guilty as anyone here about being negative about the current state of bowling.  Well, enough!  Post something, anything, that you LIKE and ENJOY about bowling!

1.  I like the smell of lane conditioner after it's just been applied.  More so if you're in an old center that still uses a hand-sprayer!

2.  There is something soothing about an old Brinswick A-2 at idle...

3.  The calmness that exists when you first enter and sit down - when the lane-lights aren't on yet and the pins lurk in the shadows of whatever light escapes the concourse.

4.  The loud "crash" of the pins and the resulting pindeck completely cleared without a single pin left on it - the accompanying feeling of pride in a job well done.

My absolute favorite time at a tournament; 7 AM, I'm finding a place for my stuff, getting a coke, looking for an oil pattern.  It's quiet, like a shrine.  I've yet to make a mistake, the possibilities are endless.

Uggghhh...I have *never* been able to understand how people can drink soda at 7:00 AM...  

Now a six-shot espresso...that's a different matter altogether.

Hey, BC, I used to bowl these tournaments with a guy who would find a way to get a double Tequila from the bar at 7AM.  Aiming fluid, ya know.

Rags,

We call it "swing lube"!!

My favorite things about bowling:

--Celebrating the beer frame
--Seeing the same kid bowl week in, week out and then seeing the week where he/she decides "No more bumpers!!!" (I volunteer coaching youth on the weekends)
--The late trip 4 just after I made a slight adjustment for the "breakdown shot"

I enjoy the sound of a ThunderStrike.

I enjoy knowing that the pins don't have a chance the second the ball comes off my hands.

I enjoy a shot when I know the second it's come off my hands that it will leave a 3-7 or a flat 7 or a 6 pin.  I like getting what you deserve.

I enjoy those quiet moments alone with a pin and my KY jelly.

the sound of a dead flush shot. The sound of the first ball of the day being thrown, total silence, just the machines and the sound off the ball rollling and hitting.
