Flying backends
« on: December 23, 2019, 09:00:57 PM »
Still going through some growing pains coming back after a long break. at this point my physical game is about back to where i was before i took a break, the revs and speed are there. but the house i am at, the backends are jumpy. there is plenty of head oil, but i am having issues controlling the back ends. i know the equipment i have at this point is not right for this house. i have a pink widow that when i get to the pocket will carry. but the issue is getting there. i miss inside a little or outside a little and its through the nose. the destiny i have is the same way. any idea of a ball that would tame the backs down or a possible drilling that may help( the destiny is pin up and the widow has a stronger drilling on it)

First I would try dulling one of those balls to 1000, that should help the ball slow down without storing energy and jumping off the dry. If that fails drill a ball with a "short pin" layout. 2.5" or less from your PAP and that should really allow you to keep the shot in front of you on hot back ends without the ball jumping off the spot.

Good head oil, flying backends.  Might be rare case where urethane is the answer if suggestions above don't work.
Here today.  Gone tomorrow.

Adjust release to forward roll less axis rotation.  This the first easiest adjustment because it's nothing more than a physical technique adjustment rather than equipment.  See what happens and then address other areas with equipment, surface, etc.

Surface slows response to friction. Try 1000 or 2000 on what you have

If there is a higher volume in the front, a stronger ball like a Chaos, Verge, or Forge could be used.

If it trends more medium volume, Rogue Assassin, Phantom, or Ruthless would work.

Short pin to pap is an option but it takes a lot for me to recommend that on house shots
