Slow answer...

There is the Deep Purple Taboo http://hammerbowling.com/products/product_detail/taboo_deep_purple/ and the Blue/Silver Taboohttp://hammerbowling.com/products/product_detail/taboo_bluesilver/...

Which are you referring to?

The question still remains, which ball are you talking about?
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

Depends on the condition.  It has a pretty strong backend, so it's pretty versatile, but they die pretty quickly.  I haven't seen any sanded pearl from Hammer that has any kind of longevity.  Mine died in about 2 months.

Not true I've had mine for almost a year and its still going strong. As long as you keep up with maintenance it's a great ball.

The Purple is a heavy hooking pretty even reaction compared to say the Black.

I have a lighter handed friend who has done quite nice with his all year.

We can't get any sanded pearls to hold up here.  Every single Deep Purple and Blue/Silver we have sold has died pretty quickly, no matter what people do to them.  Cleaning doesn't help, resurfacing doesn't help.  Glad yours is still serving you well though, I still have mine for use on drier sport patterns.
