High RG Strong cover
« on: October 12, 2017, 07:26:37 PM »
Looking for a list of high RG strong cover balls past or present. I only do well with high rg stuff in one house I bowl. I know the Show off isn't very well liked on this fourm and I already have a street fight. I will probably get another street fight but wanted to see any other options. BUT I do feel another street fight with same layout but different cover prep is the way to go.
Thanks!
The harder I try the harder they fall

Honey Badger from 900 Global comes to mind as a current option. Then there's the three Quantum balls from Brunswick. All four of these options are the no filler types though and that's a big part of why their RGs are a bit higher.

Jet Pilot, Freestyle Rush and Primal Impulse are all high RG but not super strong covers.  Hy-Road is another fairly high RG ball but also not with a super strong cover.  Burgundy Hammer remake is also fairly high RG and very strong but more of a urethane shape.  The Fight is another option as can probably find one NIB fairly easily.  No ball I have ever seen has a higher RG than my Red Razor (between 2.75 and 2.8 I believe) but with a true urethane cover strong for urethane but not a reactive.

There aren't too many:

Motiv Primal series
Brunswick Quantums
Honey Badger

Compared to the R4S cover on the Fight series, the closest would probably be the Green Quantum

Since you said past or present, I just have to mention the Visionary Midnight Scorcher....rg 2.63...with a particle Urethane coverstock..might be too aggressive for what you are looking for.

Also a royal PITA to find.  Seen only one on ebay in last 6 months and it was a 14lb.

The honey badger goes pretty straight for me. Also had a couple others throw it, including my PSO who plays deeper than I do. Even on the burn after 5 man. I do throw 14, so that could be it (much lower diff than 15/16 in this ball). But it is my weakest ball for sure. Weaker than the RG Hectic. Not what I was expecting from this ball, but definitely filled a need.

the Honey Badger is a great piece.   And the Motiv Primal Fear is also a good ball!  The Honey Badger is an Asymmetric ball.

If you could find one, the Storm Zero Gravity would fit in the high RG strong cover category.

Honey Badger is also a two piece so carry should be very good.

Another vote for the Honey Badger.  I'd love to say Hyroad, but the Badger is longer and stronger and it sounds like that's what you're after.

Mind if I ask how it's laid out?

Dang it, I keep putting it off due to money tightness, then I come on here and see everyone talking about it. Shush!!
