How Many Steps Do U Take

Okay I take 5 steps and was taught to start with the left leg since I am right had..  How many steps do you take and with which leg do you start with...

4 steps - left handed so I start with the left foot.  Pretty much text book.

I take 5 step usually. But from in front of the ball return, I switch to 4 steps. Tried to use 3 from in front of the ball return, just felt too awkward.

I'm 5 now. I went to 4 cause I liked watching a certain pro that bowls on my league so earlier this year I went from 5 to 4. It just required one day of practice with it. I shot big with it and then I started to hate it and went back to 5 steps. Even when I bowled well with 4 I didn't like it. I like to walk at a faster pace to the line and racing with 4 steps only worked for me on lighter oil and didn't feel comfortable going slow to the line with 4 steps.Years ago I was standing in the back dots taking 6 but my game was suffering and went to 5.

I've learned to adapt to both steps....depending on lane  conditions. Im a righty, for some reason when i use the four step, it allows me to flair my ball out more onto the lane. I use the four step only when the heads are dry, or broken down conditions.

5 normally, 4 if i have to speed up

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.
