I have ala carte or undrilled pricing in my shop. Drilling is the same whether you buy the ball from me or not. Only about 5-10% of the balls that I drill are brought in.
$40 for drilling, grips are $7, slugs are $8, plus tax. Seriously considering raising my prices. Supply and demand. I have about 40 balls on my work log right now, these 16 hour days are getting long.
I do watch customers bowl whenever lanes are available, I do coaching and lessons, I want to help them bowl better. My time is money.
And, unlike BOWL keeps stressing about being an online shop. I am a physical location inside a bowling center, that has rent, phone, insurance, corporate taxes (I am incorporated). Along with storage unit, CPA, and the myriad of people wanting donations and such. I give 10% off for people that bowl leagues in my center.
$50-$60 is NOT too much for the service that I provide. Surface adjustments, grip adjustments, tips on physical game, etc.... Add to the fact that I have 3 Pug Dogs and am funny as hell!!! LOL!!!
Anyway, if a guy can get higher prices, don't begrudge him, don't talk about him behind his back and cut him to the bone. Shop somewhere else. If he/she is providing enough service for the money charged, then he is doing something right.
Do you people go to the discount lazer vision surgeon? The discount plastic surgeon for bigger boobs? When your car is dead in the water, do you haggle with your mechanic?? I and others provide a service that not everyone can do. Not many do it as well as I do, I should be paid accordingly. I am not ripping anyone off.
Let the flames begin!
