I am thouroughly convinced that bowling manufacturers hate left handers as much as right handed bowlers do. I cant find a decent pair of bowling shoes that dont look hideous or i have to take out a mortgage to buy that take 500 yrs to break in. I have an old pair of sst 5 sports that i love but they are breaking down bad. i tried getting a pair of etonics that were traditional bowling shoes they are comfortable but are messing with my timing so bad i can wear them. i like the tennis shoe style but all the ones they make these days are either rh specific or dual slides the one pair that storm makes that i could wear are so god awful looking with yellow green and black there no way i will wear them. i probably gonna just take a pair of tennos shoes to shoe shop and have them put velcrow on right shoes and be done with it. my rant for today!!!!

+1 - They say there's not enough demand, but I remain skeptical.....

Skeptical of WHAT? If there was enough demand for it to be profitable they would be producing them. If you think otherwise, you are just foolish. The shoe manufacturers don't give a flip which hand you bowl with.

+1…..

Nobody gives a rats ass as to what you have on your feet. Find a pair of shoes that feel good on your feet and bowl. It's not a fashion show…..

When you go to the shoe repair shop take your old pair of sst 5 sports with you and ask them what they can do to prolong their life.  --  JohnP

also, did this.......Years ago I bought a sole #8 and took it to a shoe shop with a pair of new tennis shoes and the guy worked his magic. I used it that shoe until I finish college. Sole was $10 if I remember and the tennis shoes were <$20.

from what I have been told and read, the bruswick TPU shoes in all colors work for both LH & RH.  The sole colors may not match up as the LH soles come in limited colors and you will need to flip flop the heals if you buy a RH pair and then purchase LH soles.  However, they also use the dexter soles so you can mix and match and customize as needed.

I was told this by a Brunswick rep when I asked about the red/black not available in LH.  RH is the same as LF.  Just reverse the heals and get appropriate LH soles or use dexters after market and cut to fit.

RevLefty,

I couldn't agree more.  I also need to have triple E!  A disaster and SST5s are my ffavorite also.  I will wear them and suffer with mediums.

Total discrimination against a minority group!  I am wondering!  "Class Action".

PS, Milo, explore your comments.  Of course they care what hand one bowls with.  I've talked to Dexter on this issue they openly admit they offer wide lefty shoes in their low end and their highest end.  They don't like holding and having lots of unsold inventory.  ie lefty wides if a model is not popular.  This costs them cash flow and running a currently profitable business.  If they didn't care about the dynamics and sales charecteristics of the lefty group of shoe buyers they would offer wides in all their models for the left.  Like they use to!

Luckylefty

Oh, SST 8's hate em!  Love SST 5s and tolerate/like the SST6s.

Sad situation.

I bought the Tank model after they discontinued the SST 5's.

I've had them a couple of years now and are happy with them.

I love the push off plant foot of the SST5's and 6s much better than the velcro on push surfaces of the SST8

I also like the greater softness and flexibility of those SST5s and 6s push off feet.   Much more supple than the stiff SST8s.   Even a little more I like the fair price because they never last that long!

Overall, I would love to buy a nice wide pair of lefty SST5s right now and make that 2!  I also bowl better with them!

Have you looked at Storm Men's SP 700. They are made by Dexter and are basically the same shoe as the SST 5 Sport model. I know that because I checked with Dexter.
