i hate left handers....
« on: October 30, 2005, 11:11:43 PM »
yesterday was a tournement at my home house.... i was bowling with a lefty.... there were only two leftys..... we bowled eight games and switched lanes after each one.... by the end of the 8th i had went through my entire bag.. and the left hander i was bowling with used the same freaking ball on the same freaking line the entire day... it's just not fair!....well.. i guess it is somewhat fair if you are like 6 times better than his but still!

Don't you all know that there is a natural slope in lanes from the left gutter to the pocket?  Never ceases to amaze me that righties don't make use of this and throw backup balls.

My friend is a very extreme bowler. He has a Plastic ball sanded down pretty low, he throws it reverse hook off the corner and up 1-10 board. He torches it which is kind of messed up but w/e.

Shutup and deal with the bashing?? LMAO, you guys are just babies with the exception of those who understand how easy we can be shutout also. But if you blame your own poor bowling on the fact that the leftside is 'easier' you've got problems.

Who here has asked you to shut up and deal with any bashing?  I understand that the left side isn't always wide open.  a_ak57 understands it.  However, you can't have it both ways.  You can't tell right-handers to "deal with it or shut up" if they complain about lefties having a sweet shot where little to no adjustment is needed...then not expect yourselves to be told to "deal with it or shut up" if you whine about not having that nice little nut you think you deserve.

People who whine about lefties having it easy either need to try an arrow other than the magic 2nd one, or learn to bowl left-handed to see how easy the other side really is.

I'm righty and STAYING that way

Didn't you just tell me to shutup and deal with it in that post before or I am I totally off base?? LOL if I was Ill retract that statement, it just seemed like you were telling all lefties to deal with the bashing. I might have misunderstood.

Oh brother, how many times and ways do I have to state this?  I'll type it S-L-O-W-L-Y this time so it'll sink in, ok??

1. Sir dyno posts (in all of the lefties' opinion, whines) that lefties never have to make any adjustments and that isn't fair;
2. SuperSaw chastises sir dyno by stating that he should "deal with it or shut up".  All of the other lefties contributing to this thread (and some of the righties) agree with this sentiment;
3. a_ak57 offers the often-used lefty argument that while left-side conditions don't change as much or as quickly as right-side condition, this phenomena also has its drawbacks.  Namely, that if the condition isn't all that wonderful on the left, it tends to stay not-too-wonderful since there usually isn't as much play on the left to break it down into something else;
4. I contend that lefties often use this argument to explain their inadequate bowling just as righties often use sir dyno's argument to explain theirs.  While I would prefer to take the high road and just blow off such lefty rants, or maybe try to offer some insight as to why things like this happen, this is the Internet. It's much more fun to stoop to the lowest common denominator and add fuel to the fire.  Thus, I offer to lefties who whine about "our conditions don't change, so when (I say "if") it's tough out there, we're stuck playing on hard, sucky conditions the whole time, boo-hoo..." the same, uh, "advice" that SuperSaw does to whiny right-handers - to deal with it or shut up.  Don't you think that's fair?  Don't you lefties want to be treated equally?  If you do, all I'm offering is equal treatment.  Nothing more, nothing less.

So, Wrongside, does this at all help you see that you aren't being told to shut up and deal with the bashing?

I’ve once bowled on a team that was all lefties and we won the tournament! Needless to say the righties didn’t have much to say about that. We took away their excuse!!! Did we have to make adjustments, of course but it wasn’t any big deal.
Congratulations, but there is a slight flaw in your logic.  You still only had 5 out of 10 guys on the left side, and righties would love to have that ratio.  I bet all of the righties in the tournament had more than 5 guys on their side except for the ones on your pair, so you still didn't have to adjust as much as the average righty.

If I was equally talented with both hands, I would definitely bowl left handed.  However, there is an advantage to bowling right handed.  You get to watch others to see what lines are working, and you can play inside the track to create more area on a tough pattern.  This becomes a disadvantage late in a tournament because everyone keeps trying to stay inside the oil line and you have to play 25 at the arrows to keep it on the lane.  If a bowler is not comfortable making adjustments or playing deep, they would be better off on the left side.

Where do the poor leftys go, after you've used up all their head oil?
Throw BBs across, what's left of your pattern?

They usually switch to a less aggressive ball and continue to play outside 3rd arrow.  I would rather bowl on burnt heads than a desert with lots of carrydown, although neither situation is ideal.

Actually, I like bowling against lefties, they don't use my track. Not even the righties use my track because I play so deep. I normally only use one ball, sometimes two if #1 ball looses steam, and depending on how quickly the lanes break down, I may resort to a ball with a bit more power to finish.
But as far as bowling lefties, to me it doesn't matter who it is, in my mind, I can take them.
