If money were no object...

...what shoes would you buy?  I've been saving pot money all year and definitely need a new pair.  I previously bought Brunswick Zones, because they were cheap, and now they are cracked all over the place.  I have never had a pair with interchangeable heels/soles.  Is it really a big deal or does a slide sock accomplish the same thing?  

I am looking at the Dexter SST7E but want to know if they are worth the $$.  The best price I found online was $125 with no shipping.  Anyone know what they are going for at Nationals?

Footwork is the foundation of bowling (that's a famous line of a friend of mine) and I wouldn't go anywhere without my Dexter SST 6's. (The women's Tour Ultras are too ugly for me to consider buying them... I don't care how comfy they are)

I dont use any of the heals and soles other than the S8 sole and S7 heel (dexter).  What I have done though, is get 2 spares of each sole and heel, that way if someone accidentally spills soda in the floor and/or I step in something and start sticking I can simply take off the dirty ones and put clean ones on of the exact same feel.  This way I don't get yelled at for easy slide on my shoes trying to slide again (which I was guilty of in the past in similar situations), and I can confortably continue bowling while I clean off the dirty ones and get them ready again.

I use the Lind's Exxxtras and have for years. This is actually my second pair, but I still use the originals too. I bought the second, did not like the slide so I sent them up to Wisconsin. Jeff Lind called me himself and discussed my slide concerns, recommended a sole for the conditions I was looking for and put a new sole on my shoe. That is service you can not get anywhere else but Linds.

I also own a pair of Dexter SST5's that I have glued back together twice and they have less than 100 games on them. That is the problem with Dexters I have seen and heard. Expect to buy a new pair once a year, every other if you are lucky and don't bowl much.

The Tour Ultra's I have not heard anything bad on either. Everyone I know loves them and they have the fully adjustable soles. And yes that is a big deal if you bowl in mulitple centers and tournaments. If you only bowl in one house and league, probably not that big a deal.

Thanks for all the input.  Ordered the 3G Tour Ultras yesterday from tekneek.  Had a really hard time finding them since I wear a 13.  Tekneek stepped to the plate and ordered them for me.  I called two of the on-line places.  Neither had any idea when they may get them in.  Tekneek OFFERED to order them for me.  Should see them in a few days, and am very anxious to try them.  

After 35 plus years of bowling, I have never had a 'quality' pair of shoes, and just last Friday converted to 'spot bowling'.  

You can teach an old dog new tricks!!  

No, I'm not dying my hair blond and buying a corvette!!
