What are the differences in ball reaction if you have a middle finger dominant release as opposed to a ring-finger dominance?

Totally ring. I have two huge calluses on each side of my ring finger. Only have one callus on one side of my middle finger and have a callus on the back of my pinky finger because I tuck it for more side rotation and cleaner release. Used to have blisters and calluses long, long time ago but when I went to a 1/4 forward on my thumb and went to a tighter thumbhole and using white 1" tape when needed, my thumb is soft. My ring finger has actually changed form from bowling and is deformed a little. This is due to not having grips which is one of the only downsides to having bowling balls drilled finger tipped straight into the ball and also pinky tucking puts more strain on the ring finger from my experience. But I have tried finger tips grips which I hate and I can't seem to go back to putting the pinky flat on the ball as both elements are addicting and feel better to me...especially my scores.

Slightly ring finger dominant, I'd say. With my "A" release I try to stay behind the ball with my hand, and let it roll across my ring finger tip while curling both fingers. For more side roll, I just adjust the hand position, but try to keep the release basically the same, "leading" with the ring finger.

Okay, I've been having problems with reaction lately, so which is supposed to create more hook?

I was under the impression that to use the middle finger to drive the ball created more forward roll and the ball would read the lane earlier, and the ring finger would create more side roll which would get the ball down the lane a bit before it hooked more overall than the middle finger?

IMHO, it is just the other way around, but I suppose that it also depends on axis tilt. But AFAIK, putting more pressure on the ball through the middle finger during release should promote side rotation, and therefore skid and a snappier breakpoint - but I am not 100% sure if this can be generalized.

Middle finger here.

So is that good, bad or irrelevant?

Both fingers are close.  Though the ring finger is slightly more.
Thanks,

It somewhat depends on the lanes, and the conditions thereof. Looking at my fingers, they seem to be equally calloused.

Ring. But I use powerlift on the middle, and the flat side on the ring to compensate and keep my track high.

I think it's middle finger.  My question is, would making it ring finger dominant decrease axis tilt?
