kinda early but ball of the year subject

I know it is still early in the year and lots of new equipment still has yet to hit the market. But from the current eqiupment out this year, what do you think has the best run for ball of the year?

Sorry, but the whole idea of your post is stupid.  As stated and agreed with, one ball is garbage in one guy's hand and gold in another's.  Who cares what some magazine calls BOY?  Just means they got more ad dollars from that company.

long gone daddy. the whole point of the topic isnt to argue who is right and who is wrong. it is simply to talk about what current balls of 2012 has had the most success for bowlers. if you dont want to have a legitimate conversation with other bowlers on why they believe the ball they mentioned has a chance to run for the title "ball of year", then dont say anything and go argue about politics or something..
Long Gone also posts the honest truth which is why i respect him. He posts these things knowing some may not like it.

My prediction for PBA ball of the year (or, more accurately, the coming season) is the Storm IQ Tour.

'Round these parts, the house bowler ball of the year has to be the Track 508A. I see quite a few of these being thrown and mostly with pretty good success. From what I can see first-hand, the next contender for this would be the new Violent Eruption. This ball seems to roll great for any type of house bowler, and I am seeing quite a few of these being drilled up.

I will have to get you the exact specs. as soon as i get them I will post them here. But what I can tell you is the Berserk is a very smooth rolling ball, strong arch that continues through the pins, and very good carry. It is pretty much my new go to ball. You cant go wrong, its a winner!

When I see a lot of oil,(not nearly often enough)my Pursuit is an absolute beast! My daughter(who has slower ball speed)is loving the Cobalt Vibe.It gives her easy length, and nice controllable pop on the backend. These are current balls that my family has had good experiences with.

What's a good layout for the 508A for a THS?

Thanks

Honestly, it would all be related to your PAP, ball speed, etc. Your pro shop guy can give you the best advice.

I prefer pin up drillings and usually 5x5 layouts. I am not an expert on the layouts so I can't give angles or other info. In any case, that is how my 508A is laid out and it works on my house shots in my area. I also keep mine at 3000 grit. Your results may differ.
