Location of USBC Red, White and Blue Oil Patterns?
« on: April 09, 2018, 12:37:47 PM »
Does anyone know of the new location of the definition of these oil patterns on the new USBC web site?

The old location I had is no longer valid.

Of course, I wonder if the USBC still uses these at all. I know local associations still use them.

Thanks.

If Gene Kanak reads this, I saw an old article you wrote in 2009 for the USBC about these patterns. That still shows up on thei  website.

Red has always been defined as the THS for the center so you won't see any patterns for those on the website.

Also, my understanding is USBC has moved to the Sport, Challenge and Standard oil patterns.  This provides guidelines for centers/leagues/tournaments to use to achieve the level of difficulty desired instead of a set oil pattern.

My guess is centers still have the old information saved either on a computer or in the machine and still use these patterns.

Not USBC, but I think it has the info you crave.

I suspect the same. Thanks.

Yep. Thanks, those are what I wanted to see.
A friend bowled in a local tournament on White #2 this past weekend, using a Hot Cell. I wanted to tell him what he bowled on.

(FYI He has bizarre rev/ball speed: maybe 16 mph at the pins, with 200 rpms , on his best day. He can use Storm's strongest asymmetric playing the 1st/2nd arrow, while I need to play the 4th arrow with my BG Centaur!)
