Look at my arsenal...where are the problems?
« on: September 07, 2003, 07:03:33 AM »
Here is what I have right now.  I am trying to figure out exactly what I need to get rid of and what i need to replace it with to get a full 5-ball arsenal.  Suggested surfaces are appreciated as well.

Icon 300 -- Pin below and between the fingers, cg swung out a little (heavy/carrydown)

Element -- pin below and right of ring finger, cg stacked below.  X-hole even with and right of thumb (Mid-heavy/carrydown)

Eraser Particle Pearl -- similar drilling to Element (medium/mid heavy with clean backends)

TPC Shooter -- pin at 2:00, CG below the ring and in grip center (mid/light with carrydown?)

Too Hot -- straight over the label .5" pin out (light)

White Dot -- Label (spares)

Both the shooter and the icon 300 are on their way, so I don't really know what to expect from them.  I really do not want to carry more than 5 balls with me (since I have a 3 ball roller and a 2 ball tote).  Any help with surfaces and possibly eliminating one of these balls that overlaps too much would be appreciated.  Thanks guys.

With cover changes the TPC should cover the conditions the Too Hot can and more.

I wouldn't expect the Shooter (is it the Shooter or the Shooter XL???) to cover carrydown. The Shooter is more for medium oil, the S XL is more for medium light oil patterns.

If the Too Hot had a longer pin distance (for more flare and more hook) I'd suspect you could get rid of the Shooter. I'd also suspect the Eraser and the Shooter might overlap too much. Otherwise, the spread looks fairly good to cover most anything you'd come across.

If the SHooter you're getting is the XL, you might be able to get rid of the Too Hot, if the S XL will be drilled to cover light oil patterns.

I mostly agree with Charlest.  I see some overlap with the Eraser Particle Pearl and the Shooter.  The Too Hot should be enough below to justify it's place, especially with thee short pin.  If you see a lot of mediums, you could carry both and dump the Icon 300.  Save that for really heavy oil or tournaments.  It will probably burn up early with most people will see at leagues.

All the balls appear to be shined up, where is the dull stuff? Good to have when the backends are really clean.
