Taping a ball to show the roll
« on: March 10, 2014, 08:27:05 AM »
During practice and coaching time I want to show the roll on a students ball. I think you run a white tape from above the fingers to the PAP.  Is that correct, or is there a better way?
The idea is to show the roll caused by different hand positions.  In time, the student will understand how to change the roll to their advantage during league/tournament play. And yes I realise the tape is only there during practice time.
Any help appreciated!

I used to put a piece under my ring finger going straight down and that would often show how the ball was rolling pretty well.

Yes, the preferred location is from the PAP to a point just above the fingers.
