Naming My Pro Shop
« on: July 19, 2009, 01:26:55 AM »
Hey everybody!

I have an opportunity to open up a shop in a high velocity center. I have been pondering a couple names, but know you guys and gals are all better at the naming process.

I don't want to be complicated....
...clean and catchy or to the point.

There are alot of proshops out there and am trying not to duplicate another shop's name.

If, by chance, I choose somebody's suggestion...I will contact via private message and would like to reward that person.

Any help is appreciated...and I hope it's fun. Cuz it's been stressful for me!

What's the name of the bowling center?  Do you want any sort of connection there, or do you want the shop name to be completely separate?  Do you want something more "professional" or something a little edgy?

Bowling Center name is Pioneer Lanes. I wanted to keep it separate.

I am willing to keep my eye open to something professional or edgy.

SURPRISE ME!!

Hmm, ok.  I used to think quite a bit about what I'd name one (tried to buy one once), but lol I never came up with much that I liked.  Too picky I guess.  I'll throw a couple out here.

Perfect Ten Pro Shop/Bowling Supply
Pro Stop Pro Shop/Bowling Supply
Cutting Edge Pro Shop/Bowling Supply
Clutch Performance Pro Shop/Bowling Supply

I'll keep thinking and add more later.

Well if you're looking to keep it somewhat professional, why not go with something like "your last name's high performance pro shop" or something like that?

Lunsford's Hi-Performance Pro Shop "Where high maintenance won't cost you half your life earnings."
10 Up and 10 Down Pro Shop "We give you the tools"
Circle the Wagons Pro Shop (Going off the Pioneer Lanes thing) "It's always the arrow, never the Indian."  Might be offensive lol.

Something really simple "THE Pro Shop"

Or call is S&L Pro

or "We've Got PAP"  like we have Pep, but PAP for positive axis point

Want to make bowlers think about it ?

Near Perfection Pro Shop

Everyone want the "perfect game"

Everyone wants the "perfect fit"

Not knocking anyone's shop or ability but there's no real such thing as a "perfect fit". Once a bowler's thumb swells, perfection gone. If it's cold and the joints just don't feel right, span's long.

Think about it.

Again, just something to make the bowler think about it, maybe come in and ask you ...what's up with the name ? Good way to start a conversation about spans, inserts, balls or just to introduce your thinking of layouts/spans to people.

Good Luck !

I always thought, make people want to come in your store/shop/business, something 'catchy'. I can't take all the credit for that line of thinking, look at the ketchup you have. Some companies spell it...catchup...some ketchup, it's all 'eye catching appeal'. If you're old enough, back in the early 60's they sold millions of round rocks, colored to be eggs, in a set. It was then called a 'conversation piece'.

That's the stuff I get blind to.  I get so focused on a technical or traditionally correct way to do things that I have no imagination.  Lol, that's the last thing a product name should be . . maybe if you're naming a new species of something, but if you want to get people interested, you're definitely right.  Outside the box.  Lol, I'm stuck inside the box, it has no dents, the packing tape is perfectly centered on the seams and has no air bubbles, and it's clearly identified on two or more sides.  Woot.
