Need some advice

Okay, I took the summer off cuz when I was bowling in the last week of the fall, I threw a ball, felt pain in my wrist, down the side w/the pinky,  went to a doctor, got x=rayed, which was negative, said it was most likely tendonitis, gave me Ibuprofen for inflammation, said wait like 6 weeks.  It's been 2 months, I was wearing a wristband brace, my wrist got better, took it off, wrist is overall better, bu it's still feels tight sometimes, I've been doing curls to work the wrist, sometimes it feels tight and sore.  Is this natural?  I'm using a 16 lb bell to not only do wrist curls, but bicep curls too.  I'm almost scared of bowling again in the fall, but I really want to.  I figure I'll use a wristband brace to help stabilize, but still give me control. Any thoughts?
